Temple groups adopt extremist narratives they claim are rooted in the Torah. They seek to demolish Al Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged Temple.

These groups consist of several movements, including the Temple Mount Faithful, the Temple Institute, the Movement for the Establishment of the Temple, Returning to the Mount, the Temple Mount Fund, and Volunteers for Encouraging Ascent to the Temple Mount, among others.

By 2025, they had grown to include more than fifty organizations and institutions, some led by rabbis, members of the Knesset, and ministers in the Israeli government.

Temple groups have escalated their incitement against Al Aqsa through promotional campaigns aimed at imposing animal sacrifice, taking advantage of the closure of Al Aqsa Mosque since the start of the United States and Israeli war on Iran on February 28.
