Amid the genocide in Gaza, Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank has reached unprecedented levels. Over the past two years, the Israeli occupation has established more than 114 settlements and converted over 30 of them into officially recognized settlements, seizing 55,000 dunums of Palestinian land.

The settlement expansion led by extremist Finance Minister Smotrich has forcibly displaced thousands of Palestinians from their villages and fragmented the West Bank into isolated cantons, rendering daily life for Palestinians nearly impossible.

Settlement activity has not been limited to land seizure. It has extended to preventing Palestinians from working, imposing heavy financial fines, pursuing and arresting Palestinians without charges, and erecting hundreds of checkpoints that disrupt life for long hours without justification.
