Hi my name is Zain Javadd Malik, son of Yasser Malik who is of Pakistani descent, while my mother, Trisha Malik is English and Irish; raised as a Christian and converted to Islam after marriage. I have an older sister, Doniya, and two younger sisters, Waliyha and Safaa. I was born on January 12, 1993. People know me by the name Zayn Malik. I am a singer and songwriter, in 2010 I auditioned as a solo artist for the British television series The X Factor. After being eliminated as a solo entrant, I was brought back into the competition, along with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, to form the group that would later become known as One Direction.
