A presentation on what computation is and how we got to the modern ideas of computation.
If you don't have anything to do today, explore this site. Based on what I've read, I think it was set up by Ethiopian techies in the 1990s, and somehow it's still operating. Share what you find in the comments

An Ethiopian science fiction movie made by Miguel Llansó (born in Madrid 😞). The story explores how pop culture objects will become objects of mystery in a post-apocalyptic world where the world's population has been reduced to a near-apocalyptic level.
Disclaimer: I have not watched the movie and read the article linked for more info.
I was listening to a podcast where the author said he was inspired to write the story when he was living in Addis Ababa. He saw how western culture has influenced African culture so much, that the trash on the streets is mostly made up of western brands. He wrote the story to answer the question of how these objects (the trash) will be seen and interpreted in a near future world where their sources are forgotten.

Check out my Peerlist Profile. I read somewhere that it was helpful for getting hired. Either way it looks cool. But I got tired copying info from my GitHub repositories to the projects section of the profile page.

The Zero-rupee Note
An expatriate Indian physics professor, when traveling back home to India, found himself harassed by endless extortion demands. As a way to fight corruption by shaming the officials who ask for bribes, the professor created a fake currency bill: the zero-rupee note.
