A well thought out and informative analysis of ethiopia's economy, the kind i'd never seen before.
I literally gasped when i read that effectively the government is using the official pegged exchange rate as being a 50% tax on sellers. never thought of it that way.

Some pics from a Svelte + Rust project i am working on. I am writing good old raw CSS (no design system, no tailwind). So i know the UI looks shitty but at least it's unique π
I have been working on this project actively for approximately a week. Today i am making the repo public. π
I know there isn't much there yet but checkout the readme, checkout the code and more importantly leave a star π.
I just realized that all of the technologies i am using for the project are the most loved technologies from the stack overflow survey
Rust = the most loved language
Svelte = the second most loved web technology, phoenix (the elixir web framework) took the first place last year, but svelte was the most loved web technology for a couple of years before 2022.
PostgreSQL = the most loved database
So i guess β€οΈ was the first criteria i used to assemble this tech stack π
Finally here is the repo

And for the name Trantor is the name of the center of the first galactic empire from the Foundation books by Isaac Asimov. There is also a tv series on Apple TV based on the books i recommend checking it out. Trantor (my project) is trying to be the center of your analytics empire π.

For peeps who to want run the project locally, i am working on writing some docs explaining how to do that.

I created these graphics on excalidraw.com to explain how the analytics logic is implemented in Trantor.

I have a free AWS account so i deployed it there. The server is running on a
t2.micro EC2 instance (felt weird saying that π) and the db is running on a db.t3.micro (the smallest db you can deploy π), so the deployment is very weak and slow so go easy on it. If you want to checkout how the service works comment on this post saying you want access and i will send you the user credentials you need to sign in (a user id and a secret code).https://trantor.frectonz.tech/

This's an awesome project by @TheFrectonz
It's a site tracker. You add a simple script in your site and that's all. The platform will show you helpful insights about your site. Like visitors, sessions, what devices and OS's clients used to access the site.
It's a cool project. Good job! More features and I would genuinely use it. ππ

It's also opensource so have fun with it

Ohw and most of all I loved the neobrutalistic UI design. It's very iconic, very bold and big, yet very usable. π₯
