Just finished an initial implementation of an idea I had for a postgres extension.

I think it solves multi tenancy for most use cases.

pglite-fusion

I made a postgres extension that allows you to define SQLite columns on a PostgreSQL table. This means every row in your table can have an embedded SQLite DB.

Notice that the database column has the type SQLITE in the screenshot.

The functions execute_sqlite, empty_sqlite, get_sqlite_text, query_sqlite are all provided from the pglite_fusion extension.

It is now much easier to run pglite-fusion.

Run a PostgreSQL database that has pglite-fusion already installed.

docker run --network=host frectonz/pglite-fusion

Connect to the PostgreSQL database using psql.

psql postgresql://postgres@localhost:5432/

Figuring out how to distribute the extension took more time than actually making it. 😂

Let's hope this week will be as productive as the last.
