A well thought out and informative analysis of ethiopia's economy, the kind i'd never seen before. I literally gasped when i read that effectively the government is using the official pegged exchange rate as being a 50% tax on sellers. never thought of it…
"So anyone involved in those activities using the peg is getting 55 instead of 105. If an exporter sells coffee abroad, and brings back $1, they are getting half as many birr that trickle back to pay farmers, transportation etc. In other words, it's like there's a 50% tax on exports. ..."

Also there are 25 companies listed there, the shega peeps can't count i guess.
After i manually went through the data, there are only 17 real companies on the list, the rest are test data the developer created, 3 of the companies don't have a website, one of them has a website but it only shows you a php exception page, and there are too many "lorem ipsums" to count.

Here's a cool project from @mooler_z and @Naod_Td

The project is a browser based OS with a music player, a file explorer, a figma style editor that supports templates and exports to HTML/CSS/JS. It also has a MacOS style UI.

It uses tailwind for styling and here's a twist it is built with Angular, turns out it's not dead after all.

Looks like we have a local version of the PuterOS project.

The public docker image on Docker Hub lifestyle is very good.

You just build your docker image, version it properly and push it off to Docker Hub. Then you can deploy any version of of your app, on most hosting providers with just a couple of clicks, since nearly all of them support loading images from the Docker Hub.

I thought we were underperforming at the Olympics, so I made this chart. It seems like we peaked in 2000 with 8 medals and have never surpassed that.
