I just completed "Aplenty" - Day 19 - Advent of Code 2023 solved in rust 🦀 part 1 was easy, mostly just parsing the input part 2 was very hard and it couldn't be bruteforced [Part 1 Solution] [Part 2 Solution]
I just completed "Pulse Propagation" - Day 20 - Advent of Code 2023

this wanna was particularly hard the second part had no examples so you had to figure it out from lookin at your input but i didn't do that i looked for explanations on reddit 🤡😁

used rust to solve it

Advent of Code is back this year and It starts tomorrow, December 1 Every day at 2:00LT until December 25 you will get a two part programming puzzle with a christmas theme. https://adventofcode.com/ I first started doing it in 2021 but i only got to Day…
so tomorrow is the final day of Advent of Code and at this point it's safe to say that i won't complete it on time since i have 6 unsolved days

day 8, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24

once again the main culprit was school work 😠😔

but on the bright side i did better than last year only solved about 15 days last year, this year i solved 23

i am planning on doing a couple more of them tonight so the number might change

and the other good part is that i used multiple languages to solve them

rust, elm, ocaml, go, python, typescript

so in general it was good, although i might still continue solving the rest of them even after december 25

this is one of the most horrible things i have read Voluntary Human Extinction Movement

if we kill all the humans then who are we saving the world for.

and it seems like some of the group's members are still active

AoC update i skipped all of the ones i didn't do and did day 25 turns out you can't finish it unless you have solved all the previous puzzles 🫠
day 25 was a graph problem, i used petgraph to solve it, checked out the reddit solutions

the algorithm needed to solve the problem is Stoer–Wagner algorithm, it helps you determine the minimum number edges you need to cut to turn a graph into two disjointed loops.

if i learned one thing from this year's advent of code, it's that i don't know anything about graph theory, if any of you have a good resource for learning it, please share it in the comments
