I've completed "Parabolic Reflector Dish" - Day 14 - Advent of Code 2023
I did it in OCaml 🐫.
Here's a note to people planning on solving it, when you are doing part 2 it will tell you to run the cycle loop one billion time and that's a lit you don't have to run it a billion times depending on your input running it for about 1,000 cycles will be enough.

Everybody you should checkout this podcast, I have been a listener for about a month now. All of the hosts are either multi-millionaires or billionaires and they talk and mostly argue about current political issues, tech news and other stuff. You will enjoy…
People are talking about the Figma and Adobe thing like it's brand new news.
If you all listened to the All-In Podcast you would have known about the deal getting blocked over a week ago. 😁

Today i found out that this is how you implement a enum in go. They are not sum types like the ones in Rust but they are useful for switch statements and such, like the enums in most other languages.

A nice cool lava animation appeared on the homepage. It feels out of place surrounded by the ascii art.

Capitalism is the only economic system that ensures human progress. It is one of the true super powers of humanity. It holds societies together. It even aligns nations to prosper together. It is magnificent.

peeps when I say capitalism is good, I am not referring to capitalism without proper regulations.
the best case scenario for a producer is being a monopoly.
the best case scenario for a consumer is a state of vicious competition among producers.
you need proper regulations to keep an equilibrium among these two values

I have noticed that types have become like a tool of thought for me, i first started solving the problem without type declarations but that felt a bit archaic to me so i decided to install mypy and added a bunch of type annotations to the code.

there is functionally no difference between being a climate change denier and a climate doomer
both lead to the same conclusion, inaction
climate change denier: we shouldn't do anything because it is not happening
climate change doomer: we can't do anything because it has already happened
