💎 TON: Why we are all here

⚫️ TON (The Open Network) is a blockchain initially created by the Telegram team and then handed over to the open community, which has been developing it for several years.

⚫️ The blockchain itself is evolving, along with a multitude of products using TON as their infrastructure. Together, this is referred to as the «decentralized internet» or Web3.

⚫️ This rapid growth is accompanied by various promotional activities: new products strive to attract people, often by distributing their tokens, NFTs, or some sort of points.

⚫️ At The Daily TON, we cover all kinds of promotions and significant news from TON product ecosystem, discussing the opportunities they provide to users. We also occasionally host voice broadcasts with interesting guests.

💡 Your first wallet

⚫️ To interact with the blockchain, participate in activities (as well as to trade Notcoin when the coin hits the market), you will definitely need a TON wallet.

There are two main types of wallets:

1. Custodial wallets, where the funds of all users are essentially stored with a third party — the organization that allows you to manage your assets.
2. Non-custodial wallets, where the money is stored directly on your personal address: only you have the secret phrase that grants access to them.

⚫️ Today, let's look at how to create a non-custodial wallet. For this, we recommend MyTonWallet, which we've written about several times. You can download the app for your phone, a Chrome browser extension, or a desktop application — it's your choice. Ideally, try all three.

⚫️ Creating a wallet is very simple — launch the app and press the «Add Wallet» button, then «Create Wallet». The next stage is the most crucial.

⚫️ The app will generate 24 words — this is your secret (seed) phrase. Never show it to anyone and under no circumstances enter it on third-party sites, as whoever possesses this phrase has full access to the funds in your wallet.

⚫️ Moreover, the secret phrase cannot be recovered, so make sure you have written it in a secure place, ideally on paper in several copies.

⚫️ Again, NEVER ENTER YOUR SEED PHRASE ON THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS. This is what scammers or fraudulent sites will most often ask for. NEV-ER. Thousands of dollars have already been stolen from trusting users — don't be one of them.

💎 How to buy TON and why you need it

⚫️ In blockchains, users pay a small fee for any transactions. TON, thanks to modern technical solutions, has achieved one of the lowest fees among all networks.

⚫️ The fee size can vary significantly depending on the type of transactions, but on average, a standard transfer between wallets will cost no more than 0.05 Toncoin. For those who want to understand the principle of fee formation on TON in more detail, we recommend reading our article.

⚫️ Either way, to use the blockchain and trade Notcoin in the future, you will need to have TON in your account. So, where can you buy it?

⚫️ After our introductory post, you should have an account on xRocket. There's also another popular wallet, Crypto Bot, with similar functionality. Today, we'll acquire our first TON on one of these platforms.

⚫️ The most common method of buying cryptocurrency is through P2P markets. The principle is simple: one person wants to buy TON, and another wants to sell it for currency and receive the money to their card. A transaction is created on the exchange, followed by a series of steps for a relatively safe deal.

⚫️ It's important to note that the buyer of the cryptocurrency always sends the money to the card first, and the seller will send the cryptocurrency only after confirming that the money has arrived on the card. Strictly follow the service's instructions to ensure a successful transaction.

📒 A beautiful name for your TON-wallet

⚫️ Everyone who starts using blockchain sooner or later encounters wallet addresses. They allow you to send funds to another person, your tokens and NFTs are stored on these addresses, and they are required for connecting to most services on TON.

⚫️ Visually, an address is a large set of random numbers and letters. Specifically, on TON, they start with the symbols EQ or UQ. It's, of course, impossible to memorize it, so you have to copy it from somewhere every time. It's also not easy to distinguish these addresses from one another — they are usually identified by the last few symbols.

⚫️ That's why TON has a tool for simplifying work with addresses — TON DNS. This service allows you to buy and link a domain in the format xxxxx.ton to your TON-wallet, so you can send funds not to a complex set of symbols but to a recognizable address. For example, our address UQBL…1Vse, thanks to the domain, turns into thedaily.ton. If you want to send us something, you can do it right there.

⚫️ Addresses began to be sold on July 30, 2022, and at the start, some could cost more than 100000 TON: the shorter the domain, the higher the price. There's even a club for major holders: TON DNS Club. Its members believe in the future of TON domains and plan to develop infrastructure for them, creating various products. They have recently stepped up their activity and released the $WEB3 token, which will be used as payment in services.

⚫️ By the way, TON is not the only blockchain with domain integration. In particular, a similar tool exists on ETH, where the number of domains exceeds 2.14M units, while TON can only boast about 50K, owned by 12.3 thousand people.
