Part 2:

On July 17, 1918, the Romanov family was executed. Goloshchyokin oversaw the disposal of the remains with Yurovsky. He also ensured that items from the Romanov's quarters were transported to Moscow.

When the corpses were being loaded onto a truck, Goloshchyokin murmured, "So this is the end of the Romanov Dynasty, is it...", to which Mikhail Kudrin responded, "No, not yet; there is still much work to be done". Goloshchyokin also sneered at the dead tsar, saying "Dogs deserve a dog's death" when he saw the dead body of the family's French Bulldog, Ortino.

Pope Francis has been associated with a school of Catholic thought known as  Theology of Liberation. This movement emerged in Latin America during the mid-20th century, particularly in the 1960s and 70s, as a response to widespread poverty. When the Soviet Union attempted to export communism to Latin America, it faced resistance. In response, a local Marxist-Catholic alliance adapted Marxist ideas by integrating them with Catholic themes, particularly those about caring for the poor. This hybrid—essentially Marxism with Catholic characteristics—proved more effective for recruitment among the devout population.

Theology of Liberation retained many core elements of Marxist thought, including critiques of capitalism, support for class struggle, and strong anti-American sentiment. In some circles, this even extended to broader anti-European or anti-Western views, often framed in terms of colonialism and racial oppression.

In the modern context, many leftists have shown open disdain for Christianity, viewing it as a barrier to the lifestyles and ideologies they champion. The outpouring of sympathy from liberals over the loss of Pope Francis is a reminder that this was perhaps the most ideologically anti-European Pope this century.

A stark difference from what Pope John Paul was. A Pope that used the Church to be a friend of Europe.
