美國國務院周四發表一年一度的《美國—香港政策法報告》，指出過去一年中國加強鎮壓香港民主，並把和平表達政治訴求的行徑視為罪行，香港言論、新聞、集會、結社、宗教、出入境自由都受打擊。美國國務卿布林肯警告，香港民主體制正在瓦解、司法制度亦受空前壓力，將迫使香港人離開。香港政府周五回應，稱堅決反對外國通過各種報告，對香港特區政府作出不實和荒謬指控，敦促外國停止借香港事務干預中國內政，又聲稱香港的「傳媒環境蓬勃依然」。

There are some Hong Kongers who keep dead news apps on their phones over the past year. Lam Yin-pong, former assignment editor with the now-defunct Stand News, returns to his new office to check on its renovation. It has been a few months since his old employer was raided, closed down and its senior management arrested by the Hong Kong police in December 2021. In April 2022, Lam launched his one-man news online platform. One thing that impresses him is the view from the windows of his new space. “I didn’t realize it when I decided to rent this room. It was only later that I found the windows open right onto the Lion Rock. There is a special meaning about the hill for most Hong Kongers.”
