Telegram DC 5 is down

Users are not able to send images and messages. It is constantly stuck on the connecting... / updating... loop. This DC is located in Singapore and serves users of Asia, Australia among others.

They are facing trouble even when interacting with users/chats located on DC 5, similar to the fate of this channel.

And looks like it's back up at this moment since the previous post went through!

Things are being restored slowly across Telegram and these changes might take sometime to reflect. Please remain patient. Channels on DC 5 should be working as of now.

Personal accounts should be able to receive messages (or notifications thereof) but may face trouble accessing messages or performing other actions.

Issue timeline:
- The issue began at 16:20 UTC.
- Telegram acknowledged the issue at 16:21 UTC.
- As of 17:10 UTC, the issue slowly reduced with a few users being able to receive notifications from channels and (maybe chats). Channels based on DC 5 are able to send and edit messages, but the ping is too high.
- As of 17:35, users on DC 5 should be back up.

And the issue is now resolved. Total downtime was 1 hour 15 minutes. Telegram has fixed the issue and restarted the DC 5 cluster. The issue what caused this is still unknown.

And here we go again! The issue happened at 08:00 UTC. Since this channel is located on DC 5, it is also affected. But when the message goes through, it means that issue has started to resolve or has been resolved. Funny times enough.

As of 08:30 UTC, the issue seems to have been resolved. An exact half an hour downtime.

Microsoft has launched Copilot on Telegram.

You can use it by texting @CopilotOfficialBot. It will require sharing of phone number (so people from sanctioned countries cannot access) and you have a limit of 30 messages a day.

Apple has informed Telegram that @fStikBot is in violation of App Review Guidelines 4.7 and 3.1.1, because it accepts payments for digital goods and services directly from customers without relying on Apple's in-app purchase mechanism.

To ensure that Telegram bots/mini apps such as yours continue operating without interruption on all platforms, we have developed a way for third-party developers on Telegram to accept payments from their customers that is compliant with the App Store and Play Store policies.

To this end, we are rolling out a new in-app currency, Telegram Stars, which users will be able to acquire from Telegram using standard Apple and Google in-app purchases and then use to buy digital goods and services from you. Developers will be able to review their Telegram Stars balance and withdraw them at any time using the TON blockchain.

Starting on June 12, all payments for digital goods and services in bots and mini apps will have to be carried out exclusively in Telegram Stars. Since Telegram has to follow the Guidelines imposed on us by the app stores, failure to comply with these changes will result in the suspension of @fStikBot for most of your customers.

We will publish the full updated API documentation within the next few days, but you can already prepare your bots and mini-apps for the upcoming changes. To accept payments for digital goods and services, you will need to use the sendInvoice or createInvoiceLink methods with the currency field set to "XTR" and the provider_token field left empty.

We expect these changes to positively impact the conversion rate for payments from customers in most markets.

Payments for physical goods and services remain unchanged.
