Ali Al-Taher: Why Netanyahu needed a closure
Israel's weeks-long focus on Ali al-Taher Hill served as a distraction from its devastation of Mansoury and other southern Lebanese towns, analysts say. Netanyahu declared "operational control" on September 3, then blasted the hill on September 10βa manufactured victory to boost his election standing against Gadi Eisenkot, and to justify pulling back to a 3 km occupied zone.
