Iran Supreme National Security Council issues detailed statement on war, ceasefire, and Hormuz Strait controls

The Secretariat of Iranโ€™s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) released a comprehensive statement on Saturday outlining the latest developments regarding the ongoing war, ceasefire negotiations, and Iranโ€™s position on regional security, particularly the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the statement, following the โ€œhistoric and unparalleled resistanceโ€ of the Iranian people and armed forces, the United States began sending messages requesting a ceasefire and negotiations as early as the 10th day of the war it had initiated.

By the 40th day, after the U.S. president formally accepted Iranโ€™s 10-point plan as the framework for ending hostilities, the Islamic Republic agreed to hold talks in Islamabad, with Pakistan acting as mediator. The negotiations lasted 21 hours non-stop, with the Iranian delegation firmly pursuing the nationโ€™s demands despite deep mistrust toward Washington.

Although the enemy had previously agreed to operate within Iranโ€™s 10-point plan, it raised new and excessive demands during the talks. Facing a resolute Iranian stance backed by combatants, national pride, and a vigilant populace, the U.S. delegation realized Iran would not retreat. The round ended without concrete results, to be resumed only when the enemy abandons its excesses and aligns its demands with battlefield realities.

Recently, new U.S. proposals have been conveyed through the Pakistani army commander in Tehran. Iran is currently reviewing them and has not yet responded.

The SNSC stressed that the Iranian negotiating team, relying on divine support, public backing, steel resolve, and the firepower of its combatants, will not compromise, retreat, or show negligence by โ€œa single iota,โ€ defending Iranโ€™s interests and the sacred blood shed in the war.

One of Iranโ€™s essential preconditions for accepting a temporary ceasefire was a halt to fire on all fronts, including Lebanon. The Zionist regime violated this from the start with brutal attacks on Lebanon and Hezbollah. However, due to Iranโ€™s insistence, the regime eventually agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon. It was stipulated that if the enemy observes a ceasefire on all fronts, the Strait of Hormuz would be conditionally opened temporarily โ€” solely for commercial vessels (not military or non-military vessels of hostile nations), under the control and permission of Iranโ€™s armed forces, and via routes designated by Iran.

The SNSC noted that most equipment for U.S. military bases in the Persian Gulf is shipped through the Strait of Hormuz, posing a threat to Iranโ€™s national security and regional stability. Therefore, Iran is determined to monitor and control traffic through the strait until the war fully ends and lasting peace is achieved. This control will include obtaining full information on passing vessels, issuing transit permits according to Iranโ€™s announced rules (commensurate with wartime conditions), collecting fees for security, safety, and environmental protection services, and using routes announced by Iran.

If the enemy attempts to disrupt vessel traffic or impose naval blockades, Iran will consider that a ceasefire violation and prevent the conditional, limited opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Concluding the statement, the SNSC recalled the recommendations of the Leader, emphasizing that to fully consolidate military gains and succeed in diplomacy, the continued presence of the brave Iranian people in the streets, full vigilance on all fronts, and protection of national unity by officials, media, and political and social activists remain essential.

Priority in Strait of Hormuz for vessels that pay faster: Iranian official

Under the new order governing the Strait of Hormuz, the process of limited vessel transit will be carried out based on new prioritization rules, an Iranian official responsible for strait management told CNN.

According to the official, due to restrictions on the number of vessels permitted to pass, Iran has decided to grant priority to ships that respond more quickly to the new protocols of the Strait and pay the required fees for security and safety services.

Under this mechanism, vessels that are ready to pay the said fees and comply with the notified protocols will be placed on the priority list, while the transit of other vessels will be delayed.

The measure has been described as part of Iranโ€™s executive regulations for managing maritime traffic in this strategic waterway.

Strait of Hormuz under full Iranian control, Ghalibaf says; US minesweeping attempt met with decisive force

Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf revealed new details of the Islamabad talks, stating that Iran confronted an American minesweeping attempt as a clear ceasefire violation.

๐Ÿ”น "We told the US delegation: if your minesweeper moves an inch, we will fire. They asked for 15 minutes โ€” and ordered retreat," he said.

๐Ÿ”น The US recent blockade announcement was called "unwise and ignorant."

๐Ÿ”น "It is impossible for others to pass through the Strait while we cannot."

๐Ÿ”น If Washington does not lift the blockade, "passage through the Strait will certainly be restricted."

US 'piracy': Iran locks the sea gates of Hormuz

Iran has reasserted full control over the Strait of Hormuz, intercepting two vessels that tried to transit without coordination. Officials denounce the US naval blockade as "piracy," warning that maritime passage depends on US compliance with the fragile two-week ceasefire.

IRGC spokesperson Zolfaghari said: "Until America allows full freedom of navigation for Iranian vessels, the Strait will remain under strict control."

President Trump's claims that Iran "agreed to never close the Strait again" were firmly rejected. Parliament speaker Ghalibaf stressed: "Rules will be determined on the battlefield, not social media."

With no date set for new talks, Iran warns that US breaches will prompt reciprocal measures.
