A group of female Iranian artisans is presenting traditional handicrafts at the BRICS Bazaar exhibition, held on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi from September 10 to 15. Artisan Ameneh Sedighi from Gilan province is introducing Rashti-doozi embroidery, a craft dating back over 2,000 years, historically practiced by men but now by women. She noted strong interest from foreign visitors, particularly Indians. The exhibition also highlights similarities between the handicrafts of Kashmir and Iran, reflecting close cultural ties among BRICS nations.

Pezeshkian: Iran's problem is US bases, not regional states

๐Ÿ”นIn an interview with India Today at the BRICS Summit, President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran has no problem with any regional countryโ€”only with US bases used to attack Iran.

๐Ÿ”นHe described ties with UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, and China as friendly, stressing Iran "did not start any war" and only defends itself.

๐Ÿ”นPezeshkian rejected nuclear weapons allegations, reaffirming NPT commitment, and said Iran won't surrender to sanctions or blocked medicine.

๐Ÿ”นHe confirmed a safe shipping route framework for Hormuz was agreed with Oman, with Gulf FMs meeting Monday.

Araghchi: Oman deal doesn't mean Hormuz reopening

๐Ÿ”นForeign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed that Monday's Muscat meeting will focus on a new maritime route in the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran sharing details of its Oman agreement and maps with participants.

๐Ÿ”น"The agreement with Oman does not mean the Strait is reopening. Iran's condition is the US returning to its commitments under the Islamabad MoU," he stressed.

๐Ÿ”นAraghchi said regional security is the sole responsibility of regional states, hoping the talks pave the way for future consultations.

Defense chief: We place no value on enemy threats

๐Ÿ”นActing Defense Minister Brigadier General Ibn al-Reza said repeated enemy threats show "the paralysis of the enemy's intelligence apparatus."

๐Ÿ”น"Iran should not be spoken to with threats. We place no operational value on themโ€”they are political messages, not backed by real military capability."

๐Ÿ”นHe affirmed Iran has never been a threat to neighbors, and said with "high confidence" that any future war would see Iran fight "far more powerful and technologically advanced."

๐Ÿ”น"Today's Iran is stronger, more united, and more awake than at any point in its history."

A different way to travel: Azadeh Abedinzadeh explains regenerative tourism

Tourism expert Azadeh Abedinzadeh explains regenerative tourismโ€”going beyond sustainability to actively restore places and empower communities. In Soheili Village on Qeshm Island, locals protect mangroves, involve tourists in planting seedlings, and create eco-lodges. Iran now has five UN Best Tourism Villages, each offering authentic cultural and environmental experiences. The key, she says, is education and community participation.

FM Araghchi: Oman understanding not enough to reopen Hormuz

Iran's foreign minister says the Strait of Hormuz will only reopen once the US honors the June MoU and ends its blockade. Iran and Persian Gulf states meet in Muscat on Monday to discuss a new regional maritime security framework. Araqchi stressed that Gulf security must be managed by regional actors, not foreign powersโ€”echoing Qatar's call for "self-sufficiency."
