🛠️ AWS + Kiro Setup: Top Errors & Fixes (Complete Guide)

1️⃣ AutoPay / Mandate Concerns? Right after completing the ₹2 payment, open your UPI app (PhonePe / GPay / Paytm) and immediately Cancel or Pause the AutoPay Mandate. No additional money will ever be deducted from your account!

2️⃣ "Failed to create kiro subscription for 1 user" Error? This error appears when your AWS account is not fully activated yet. Check under AWS Billing & Management to ensure the payment authentication succeeded. If the issue persists, create a fresh AWS account using Chrome's Incognito Mode.

3️⃣ Payment Failed During AWS Signup? Make sure to use a Debit or Credit Card with International Transactions ENABLED (Visa or Mastercard work best; RuPay cards often fail on AWS).

4️⃣ "No Profiles Available" or IAM Login Error? This happens when you create a user in the IAM Identity Center but forget to 'Assign' them under the Kiro section. Re-watch the step at 07:50 in the video carefully.

5️⃣ "Data Couldn't Be Retrieved" / Page Loading Issues? If IAM Identity Center isn't opening, clear your browser History & Cache, or try accessing it directly in Google Chrome Incognito Mode.

6️⃣ Claude Models (Opus / Sonnet) Not Showing Up? If you only see DeepSeek or other models initially, wait 10–15 minutes (backend permissions take a short while to activate) and then Restart or Refresh the Kiro IDE.

7️⃣ Account Pending Verification? New AWS accounts can take 2 to 24 hours to become fully active. Please wait for the official confirmation email from AWS.

8️⃣ Will AWS Charge Money Automatically? NO! As long as you have active $100 / $200 free credits, no money will be deducted from your card.

That exact error ("failed to create KIRO subscription for 1 user") happens due to 2 main reasons:

1. AWS Region Issue: Make sure your AWS Console region is explicitly set to us-east-1 (N. Virginia) before enabling IAM Identity Center and Kiro.

2. Account Verification / Card Flagged: If your AWS account is brand new or if you used a virtual card/temporary email/VPN, AWS automatically flags it as "not eligible" for Marketplace/Kiro subscriptions.

💡 How to fix:

- Switch your region to us-east-1 and try again.

- If AWS support says "not eligible", it means that specific AWS account has restricted billing access. You will need to try with a fully verified AWS account using a standard bank card.
