“EGGS” students works at matsysdesign advanced architecture studio at the California College of the Arts in #SanFrancisco #California | 2013.
Each student was tasked with constructing five objects of roughly the same size and shape over four weeks. Students, in the design and fabrication of each egg, needed to include both digital and physical aspects.
For some techniques, the balance between these two ways of designing and making was more on one side or the other. For example, a 3D printed egg might only involve 2% physical making and 98% digital making. Other processes were the opposite.

The Mobility Pavilion by #fosterandpartners at the Dubai Expo is planned to occupy a dedicated plaza at the south entrance to the site and will have a lively, dynamic landscape conceived as a fairground with undulating tracks and demonstration areas for the latest technological innovations related to mobility.
An expression of the dynamic nature of mobility, the façade features a series of horizontal stainless-steel fins that wrap around the building. These fins lift up to form a canopy for each of the three entrances, while the roof hosts an array of both photovoltaic and solar hot water panels. The building is designed to achieve a #LEED Gold rating and will be repurposed as a high-quality office building as part of the wider legacy plan.
