#Lalibela (Amharic: ላሊበላ) is a town in Lasta Amhara Region, 🇪🇹 #Ethiopia famous for its rock-cut monolithic churches. The whole of Lalibela is a large antiquity of the medieval and post-medieval civilization of Ethiopia.

In a #1970 report of the historic dwellings of Lalibela, #Sandro #Angelini evaluated the #vernacular earthen #architecture on the #Lalibela World Heritage Site, including the characteristics of the traditional earth houses and analysis of their state of conservation.

His report described two types of vernacular housing found in the area. One type are a group he calls the "tukuls", round huts built of stone and usually having two stories. The second are the single-storey "chika" buildings which are round and built of earth and wattle, which he feels reflects more "scarcity"......🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹

SOLAR DROP, Panoramic Majlis by #vincentcallebautarchitectures , Architectural and Engineering Consultancy by Invitation, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

The aquatic complex is implanted on an artificial island in Abu Dhabi, a polder measuring 100 meters by 100 meters, at the end of a 500 meters long breakwater. The purpose of the project «Solar Drop» is to maximize the magnificence of this exceptional site thrown on the Sea of Oman.

To free the skyline from the carrier points of the construction, the project mainly bases on an enormous structural dome which spreads in the space as a flower taking root at the center of the island. This flower consists, in fact, of 2 coupled spiral domes. Indeed, the convex superior dome is covered with 16 spirals of photovoltaic cells, whereas the concave lower .............

Organising the distribution of fresh products in short circuits, that means linked directly with the consumer, the urban agriculture completes thus the traditional agriculture. In addition to the nutritive quality of the produced and consumed food, the Urban Agriculture is also a growth lever of the urban unemployment market and the local economy. It is used directly as a social link in the conciliation of the primary needs of the newcomers with the challenge of their integration in the life of the city, fighting thus against poverty and exclusion.
