🚗 This 64-kilometre #new #transport route in #Dubai aims to become the “world’s greenest🌿 highway”. Designed by URB (#urbplanning), the Dubai Green Spine will turn the existing Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road (E311) into a “sustainable corridor” complete with #electric# trams, #cycling and #pedestrian routes, #solar #panels integrated into tram trackways and more than a million new trees.

⭐️ Adopting the #principles of Dubai’s 20-minute city #initiative, the re-imagined artery will include vertical farms, community #allotments and #sustainable urban drainage systems along its path. It will also feature #educational and #cultural #facilities serving as hubs for community engagement and learning, a move that #URB #believes will help make the route a central, integrative urban feature.

The #project aligns with the Dubai 2040 #Urban #Master #Plan that sets a vision for how the city can #sustainably grow in the next 16 years.👀

🫥The Lucila Rubio de Laverde School in Bogotá, Colombia, was #designed by the #architectural #firms are architecture en Estudio and Nómena architecture. This school is part of an initiative by the Mayor of Bogotá to improve public #infrastructure and #provide quality education facilities within walking distance for students.🎮

🤖The #design #features a two-level podium housing #communal #spaces like an auditorium, library, and dining hall, which are accessible to the community outside #school hours. The classrooms are #located in a six-story slab that faces the Bogotá River, taking advantage of natural light and ventilation. The #building uses #locally made brick to reduce #maintenance and establish a #connection with Bogotá’s traditional #architecture.🤌
