It's being reported that Chinese authorities have taken over the part-built Evergrande Football Stadium in #Guangzhou. Designed by Gensler, the near $2BN venue was due to complete in 2022, but construction work was halted earlier in 2021 over concerns around developer Evergrande's ability to repay its debt.

Authorities are now reported to be deciding whether to sell the construction site or to complete the stadium with a state-owned contractor.
