Here is the criminal complaint against two men alleged to have sprayed Officer Brian Sicknick (and others) with bear spray.

Of note - there is no allegation (yet) that the bear spray caused Officer Sicknick's alleged stroke or any other serious injury.

From the document: we see that the officers couldn't perform their duties for "at least 20 minutes or longer while they recovered from the spray."

Officer Sicknick reported he had been "sprayed in the face with a substance."

Now we wait and see if the Feds link the bear spray to Officer Sicknick's stroke. It's very well possible that they do.

The filing of the charges against the two men indicates that the Feds know Officer Sicknick's cause of death, and whether any alleged assault played a role.

They're just not telling the public yet.

Maxwell has requested an OK for a subpoena "directed at a law firm that represents [her] alleged victims."

Would require production of personal/confidential victim info.

The victims law firm is fighting the proposed subpoena. Expect a ruling in the coming weeks.

On South Dakota and Governor Noem - the blame goes all around.

HB 1217 is a poorly written law and Noem's revisions don't go far enough.
