Privilege. America was the shining city on a hill until DC sucked out all the treasure for itself. This summer they enjoyed the spoils of your labor while your cities burned.
They fail you because they don't care about you. Yeah, you're a citizen. But you're not one of them. You can never go to their world and they hate to go to yours. Until they need something.
Maybe they even hate you. Your children will suffer the consequences of debt but their children - Facebook, Amazon, Google - will thrive.
They send you to die in Iraq or Afghanistan or Syria while their comrades profit.
Your family may struggle to earn a living wage, but the workforce of their corporate masters - low skilled immigration, foreign tech workers - will enjoy the jobs you lost.
