Running clears the mind.
Well… mostly…
When you run like me through the beautiful Norfolk countryside, the true heart of England, you expect fields, fresh air and birds singing (manjuk deer, bunnies, squirrels and mice always included)
What you don’t expect is… rubbish😞
Lots of rubbish😞
So on Friday, after a very “motivational” run from my coach (yes, that kind of run , if you know it, you know it😅 ), I realised something simple:
you can run… and make a difference.
We always have a choice. And I have a choice!
We can say:
“Someone will clean it. The government. The council. The Prime Minister. The President….”
Or we can pick it up ourselves.
Years of living in different parts of the world have taught me that a ❤️community becomes what its people choose to make of it ❤️
My trigger was simple and obvious, a plastic bag.
I thought one bag would be enough for the path to the main road.
It was full in 20 minutes,
and I had only covered 200 metres. Can you believe it?
So later that day my best half ❤️ and I came back with two more bags and finished the job.
Now I’m curious.
👇 Guess in the comments the TOP 3 types of rubbish that filled our bags.
Let’s keep our planet cleaner than we found it. Let’s start from ourselves and you/me can make a difference.
Warmly,
Elina ❤️

Dear students,
I have shared a new post about my life in Norfolk 🌱 https://t.me/English_for_adultsuk/401
Recently, I have started gardening again, and it brings me many happy childhood memories.
I now have three small garden beds where I grow strawberries, carrots, radishes, peas and spring onions.
If you have a moment, please have a look at my post, it is a nice way to practise reading real-life English 🇬🇧
I would also love to hear from you:
👉 What are you growing or would like to grow this year?
Warmly,
Elina🌿

Elina, Hi! What is number one? Cigaret butts? I also feel concerned whenever I see trash—it really disappoints me. Sometimes I even pick it up. I remember going to the riverbank at the beginning of spring. I only planned to pick up a couple of bottles, but I ended up collecting a huge pile of rubbish:))))

Hello, Elina!
It’s great that you’ve recently gotten into gardening and have your own garden to plant outside! I live in an apartment building and don’t have a garden, but I just got four houseplants and can’t wait to start a little balcony garden — maybe greens, tomatoes, and flowers:)
