DON'T BE LED BY YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE

1.) Matthew 4:4 says, But He answered and said, "It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

People of God, satan uses our circumstances to tempt us. He keeps reminding us of our past failures and tries to use our situations to stop us from running a straight race with God.

When Jesus was tempted by satan through the circumstance of hunger, His response was, “Man shall not live by bread alone.” In other words, “I may be hungry, but I’m not anxious for food.”

When you are poor and desperately in need of a blessing, you may be tempted to accept any source of supply without discernment. But we must not be led by our circumstances. Therefore, the rich should not place their focus on their wealth, and the poor should not focus on their poverty. Serving Jesus requires our total focus on Him—fixing our eyes on Him alone.

2.) Christians, in these difficult times, Jesus is our only hope. If Jesus is your hope, let your mind rise and seek what is above. When we pray and don't seem to receive an answer, let us trust that God is already working it out—and not start looking for alternatives. It honours God when we choose to believe Him even when all our senses contradict what He has said.

People of God, trouble does not come only because we have taken a wrong step. Trouble often comes simply because we live in a complex and contradictory world. Do not let trouble, situations, or circumstances lead you. Instead, place your focus on God, and He will direct your path. Your response to your situation reveals where your faith truly lies—put your faith in God.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, give me the grace to fix my eyes on You. Help me to trust You even when every sense contradicts You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
