1.) Hebrews 12:5-6 says “… My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son.”

God has adopted us as His sons and daughters so that we may inherit the same privileges with Christ. As we walk towards His eternal hope for us, we often fall on the way due to immaturity. Immaturity plays a big role in our present state - being unable to maintain balance and keep a stable approach to what comes our way every day. It takes maturity that comes from faith to realise that our responsibility to God is a commitment and fellowship with Him. This means that we are all God’s children in need of His correction.
2.) Many times we complain of the discipline we receive, but how many times do we as children embarrass our Heavenly Father and hurt Him by our behaviour, our disobedience? Do you know how much pain we have caused Him, how much we have disgraced His name by our worldly attitude? If you say you believe Jesus but do not obey or submit to His process, can you say you are truly a believer? Many claim and present themselves as children of God, but very few behave as one. Because of His Love for us, He sometimes uses our situation to build character in us. He sometimes uses our circumstances to draw us closer to Himself. Let us therefore submit to His process that we may walk in His way and live according to His standard.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, draw me close to You. Help me to follow Your process that I may become more like You, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
Media is too big
The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are but on how happy others can be because of you.

How many people are happy today because of you?

1.) Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Life is a journey filled with challenges, uncertainties, and unexpected turns. We are faced with unexpected difficulties in our health, relationships, and other aspects of our lives on a daily basis. It is during these times that we may question God’s plan for us, wondering if He has forsaken us. In the midst of our struggles, it is crucial to remember that God’s plan for us is always good and not evil. The great apostles had to go through tests and trials before experiencing divine promotion.
2.) In Job 23:10, we understand that what we are going through as Christians are tests meant to mature us. That trial you are going through—it may be sickness, disease, disappointment, failure, setback—serves as a platform for your divine promotion. Joseph faced a series of trials, but he didn’t lose his focus; his focus was on God and His promises. His unwavering faith and integrity led to his promotion from prisoner to a position of authority in Egypt. The story of Abraham and Sarah teaches us to find comfort in God’s timing, trusting in His promises even when circumstances seem unfavourable. Prophet T.B. Joshua faced numerous trials, challenges, and name-calling, but his resilience and unwavering faith in God allowed him to navigate those storms. The situation at hand may look like it is delayed, but it is not. Remember that men of purpose do not concentrate on where they are but on where they are going.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to believe in You even in the midst of my trials, in Jesus Christ’s name! Amen!

1.) 1 John 4:20 says, “If someone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?”

In a world full of violence and offence, we are commanded to love just as our Saviour loves. As Christians, our expression of love shows our faith and proves our faith. If you love God as you claim, then you must love your neighbour. Man, if he truly loves God, must show concern to the just treatment of his neighbours. This means that faith brings man to God and love brings Him to man. That is, faith brings us to God but love keeps us in God.
2.) The people of God are to be known for their solicitude for those whose social and economic status exposes them to exploitation and oppression. Our gifts should be used as an act of worship to God through giving to others. Love shows that we are born of God and that we know Him. Our love for God is shown by our obedience to His commands. He has commanded us to love our neighbours as we love ourselves and to do good to those who hurt and persecute us. Remember that the love the Bible speaks of is not that we wait to be loved but that we choose to love first. In a world full of darkness, let us be that channel of love where hatred, unforgiveness and offence abound.

PRAYER: O Holy Spirit, make me a channel of love where there is hatred, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
