"Since you're not bound by any final standard, irreversible principle, or deity, what prevents you from committing all crimes?"
—I've discovered within myself an equivalent amount of evil as anyone else, and because I detest movement – the source of all vices – I refrain from causing torment to anyone.
I am not harmful, not greedy, and lack the energy and modesty to confront others, so I let the world be as I found it. Seeking revenge requires constant vigilance and calculated thought, making it a burdensome endeavor. Indifference, forgiveness, and disdain, on the other hand, render the hours pleasantly empty.
...I have chosen the foolish apathy and the numbness of angelic sensibility, thus restraining myself from actions.

There are great love stories that end because of language, because of the difference in each person’s vocabulary, because of the meaning that each word carries and its background for each of them, because one is sensitive to language while the other is not to the same degree, because of the tone in which a word is spoken.
There are words as sharp as a knife in their meaning, even if their definition is agreed upon. And there are words that are revealing, exposing, seemingly neutral on the surface but deadly in their depth. Words that we throw out simply, yet they are like stones — they cannot be taken back nor replaced.
Language is a trap because it is made up of synonyms, because it is open to interpretation, and because it is possible to maneuver around it. But intuition is true when it receives a word, when it connects other words with that first one.
Language is the vessel of thought, but it is not just the vessel of thought. It is the vessel of feelings, the lens of the telescope that reveals, the goddess of signs. The word is the ultimate sign that we must read according to semiotics. The word is more important than body language, eye language, hand language, and behavior language. Because language is the vessel in which we swim as much as it swims within us.
