PRATUSH Telescope
β Probing ReionizATion of the Universe using Signal from Hydrogen (PRATUSH) is a radio telescope designed to be placed on the moon's far side.
- Aim : To detect signals from the first stars and galaxies, uncovering the cosmic dawn of the universe.
- Development : Built by the Raman Research Institute (RRI) in Bengaluru in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
- Deployment : Initially, PRATUSH will be placed into orbit around the Earth by ISRO. Later, it will be launched towards the moon after fine-tuning.
- Objective: It seeks to answer questions about the formation and nature of the first stars and the light they emitted.
- Components: Equipped with a wideband frequency-independent antenna, a self-calibrating analog receiver, and a digital correlator to capture radio noise from the Dark Ages.
