Вот да, работает веб сервер, на каком-то там #nginx 1.3, #apache 1.x - ну и работает, даже если это что-то из 1990х годов родом и умеет в веб 1.0 - ну если оно не требует https, зачем его туда прикручивать, да еще и веб сервер обновлять или же полностью новый сервер накатывать с 0, например взамен #centos 5 уходить уже на 8 🤷♂️
Это к примеру какая-то дока в html, или блог, который умеет только хостить html или файлы. Скорее владелец этого чуда просто купит #веб хостинг или убьёт сервис в целом.
Мне кажется, что авторы браузеров не хотят выдумывать чего-то сверх и делать себе больно при выборе условий, которые удовлетворят всех. Проще делать как в тренде, а в тренде https, TLS 1.3, HTTP/3 и quic. Все эти #devops/#sre и сверху еще #k8s и прочие и прочие новые в будущем вещи.
