HYPERTROPHY Q&A

Comment all your questions / challenges that are stopping you from achieving your dream physique👇

I went from 18% to 11% body fat in 6 month while maintaining a high testosterone level and a metabolic age of 16 without using supplements.

Sticking to core habits like eating clean, getting sun, logging workouts, good sleep and going harder than last time is enough to achieve this and more.

You don’t need fancy workout regimens, you don’t need expensive supplements. Believe in yourself and stick to the goal, no matter what.

Big, Lean & Natural

A person can have only 2 of these 3 traits.

Only exceptions are genetic freaks.

Something I’ve noticed, (and this is true cross-contextually in virtually every arena) is,

Amongst the legends of ANY craft -
They are obsessed with practice.
And constantly revisit the fundamentals.

Kobe would shoot 800 times a session.
Floyd Mayweather would throw 5k punches.

Why?

Do you think Kobe is afraid of forgetting how to shoot a 3?

Do you think Mayweather is making sure he doesn’t forget how a jab should be thrown?

No.

What they are doing is: staying sharp.
Keeping the nervous system trained.
Instructing their subconscious to effortlessly repeat perfect technique such that they could win in their sleep.

Miyamoto Musashi had a line:
“YOU CAN ONLY FIGHT THE WAY YOU PRACTICE.”

THINK ABOUT IT. MEDITATE ON THIS CAREFULLY.

WHAT ARE YOU (consciously or unconsciously) PRACTICING?

Are you practicing gratitude?
Are you practicing joy?
Are you practicing humility?

Or are you practicing resentment? Misery? Arrogance?

Namaste.

BULKING VS CUTTING

There is no definitive answer to whether bulking or cutting is more difficult, as both largely depend on genetics and lifestyle. The real challenge lies in transitioning between these phases while retaining the benefits of the previous phase.

For instance, when transitioning to a cut after a bulk, many people simply reduce their calorie intake and end up back where they started. The real difficulty is in trimming down fat without losing the strength gained during the bulk.

Similarly, when transitioning to a bulk after a cut, most people increase their food intake and gain fat. The true challenge is in gaining muscle without negatively affecting body composition.

Being lazy will cause a greater net loss in your life than any vice ever will.

Cost of missed opportunity is real and you're the bearer.

This is the reason I’m a preacher of logging every detail of your workout.

When you know exactly what you lifted last week before every set, beating that becomes very easy thus boosting progressive overload.

I’ve doubled my pull volume in 2 months without losing any intensity.

That is; without adding extra sets or exercises.

I’ve found myself dehydrated more often during monsoon than in summers.

Probably because colder weather doesn’t make you feel thirsty as much, even though you need it.

Stay hydrated my frens

Many people find it hard to grow their traps and calves and often blame their genetics.

The problem is they train these muscles like any other, even though traps and calves are mostly slow-twitch muscles.

To grow bigger traps and calves, you should aim for higher reps, around 15-25, and use a slow range of motion.

These muscles are designed for endurance and can handle more fatigue than fast-twitch muscles like the chest or biceps.

Lifting straps are super awesome and no, you won’t “lose” grip strength by using them for pulling.

Only exception:
If you’re a beginner, don’t use any supporting accessory like straps or belts.

Very interesting split, might give it a shot in couple of weeks

Anyone ever tried a non competing muscle split? If yes, how was it?

A change I made in my training recently ended up giving me the soreness I first experienced when I just started lifting.

This change is: giving a lot more emphasis to stretch than contraction.

This has worked incredibly for EVERY muscle group so far.

In order to experience this, make sure you choose exercises that do not limit your range of motion.

For example: Dumbbell press over barbell press

And a lot of machine work.

Hold the stretched position for atleast 3 seconds and when I say stretch, I mean ALL THE WAY stretch.

For millennia, the human race survived and evolved, tuned into Nature’s innate wisdom. Then Technology arrived, with the initial intention of improving our quality of life. And for a while, we did use it to enhance our human experience. As technology slowly started getting ingrained deeper into our life, it somehow has reached a point where it is beginning to dissociate us from the very human experience it was meant to “serve”.

It is time to return to that state where the purpose of technology was to remain in service of mankind- to protect, enrich, enhance and improve the human experience. Technology that serves as a bridge between the ancient wisdom of Nature, and our current, modern necessities.

It is time for technology to get back to serving the Divine in all of us.
