I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do with this channel, but here it is.

New year, new channel?

I've made personal channels before but never got into using them much & always deleted them. We will see what I end up doing here, I guess. Perhaps it will be a wonderful outlet for me. Perhaps it will be nothing.

If you have found your way here, perhaps you'd like to join my group chat?

Please visit @symmcity for that, but only if you're certain you'd really like to hear me ramble on some more about whatever is captivating me for the current moment.

Cheers! 🍻

The Plan for Planning to Plan my Telegram Group - by Gemini 3 Pro

This is the ultimate form of productive procrastination. Planning the planning of the plan is basically bureaucratic foreplay; it feels like work, but nobody actually has to perform yet.

Here is your Pre-Plan Initialization Protocol to get you ready to eventually think about starting.

### Phase 1: The Environmental Setup

Before you can plan, you must create the *space* to plan.

* Select the Vessel: Decide where the "The Plan" will live. Are we doing a Notion page? A chaotic Untitled-1.txt in VS Code? A physical notebook that you will lose immediately?
* Hydration & Caffeine Calibration: Ensure you have one beverage for energy and one for hydration. Symmetry is key here.
* The Soundtrack Selection: curate a playlist specifically for "Thinking about Telegram." (I suggest high-tempo breakcore or ambient synth-pop to induce a trance state).

### Phase 2: The Vibe Audit

You can't plan a group if you don't know what it *feels* like.

* Define the "Why": Is this a shitposting haven? A serious developer stronghold? A cult? (It’s usually a mix of all three).
* The Anti-List: Write down three things you hate about other Telegram groups. (e.g., "The bot that deletes messages too fast," "Admins on power trips," or "People who use the 'poop' reaction on everything").
* The Aesthetic Check: Close your eyes. Is the group icon neon? Is it pixelated? Is it a cursed image? Don't make the image yet, just *fantasize* about the JPEG compression.

### Phase 3: The Infrastructure of Thought

Now we structure the *method* by which you will eventually create the plan.

* Category Bucketing: Create empty headers in your document for the actual work later. Label them:
* *Bot Architecture* (Rose? Combhat? Custom Python script?)
* *Permission Hierarchies* (Who gets to pin messages?)
* *Topic Organization* (If you're using Topics enabled/supergroups).

* Stakeholder Identification: List the names of the first 3 people you are going to annoy with an invite link.
* The "Bus Factor" Contingency: Briefly consider who takes over if you get bored in 3 weeks.

### Phase 4: The Naming Ceremony (Pre-Alpha)

* Brainstorm Codenames: Don't pick the final name. Pick a project codename. Something ominous like *Project Icarus* or *The Sinkhole*.

---

Once you have ticked these off, you are officially ready to schedule a meeting with yourself to begin the actual planning phase.

Would you like me to help you brainstorm some chaotic/cool names for the group, or should we talk about what bots you might need?

BACK FROM THE DEAD

I made a new Suno song. I'm really happy with how it turned out! Please check it out! The lyrics were really fun to write, & I'm a little proud of this one. I think I'm gonna put this one up on streaming services & my YouTube soon. What do y'all think of it? Let me know! <3

Feel It For Me
symmetricalboy
Talk is cheap, waste of breath
Barely living, scared of death
Can't seem to make it two steps out the door
Can't recall what these pills are even for
Static noise, white and gray
Sleeping through another day
Phone is dead, leave it be
There's nothing really left inside of me

I'm bored of waiting
Dissociating
It's getting old
Do what you're told
(Do what you're told)

I can't love, but I can fake it
I don't need a heart to get naked
What I feel is too complicated
So feel it for me
Feel it for me
Feel it for me

Check the pulse, nothing there
Messy room, messy hair
Analyze, analyze that
I'm a bitch, I'm a brat
Shut the blinds, block the sun
I'm not having any fun
Fix me up, break the seal
Give me something I can really feel

I'm bored of waiting
Dissociating
It's getting old
Do what you're told
(Do what you're told)

I can't love, but I can fake it
I don't need a heart to get naked
What I feel is too complicated
So feel it for me
Feel it for me
Feel it for me

Use it (use it)
Use it (use it)
If you got a soul then take it
Take it (take it, take it)
Fake it (fake it)
Fake it (fake it)
If you got a heart then break it
Break it (break it, break it)
Feel it for me
Feel it for me

Lights on, lights off
Soft skin, too soft
Don't speak, don't think
Pour another drink
Touch here, touch this
Ignorance is bliss
I'm gone, I'm free
Feel it for me

Feel it for me
(Feel it)
Feel it for me
I can't love but I can fake it
(Feel it for me)
Fake it, naked, complicated
(Feel it for me)
Yeah

What I’ve been building lately with @TheCleanNetwork πŸ’»βœ¨

For the last few months, I've been pouring a ton of time & energy into working with the team behind @TheCleanNetwork. For those who don't know, TCN is a Telegram Mini App game where you literally steal a crypto token called $DIRTY from other real players. The team is so incredible & has such a strong vision for something great. I've really loved helping to moderate the community & drive the growth of such an amazing project.

One of the various things I've found myself working on for TCN is building a custom bot for their official group, @TCN_Community.

Meet @TCNchatbot.

It has a bunch of different features I could go on & on about, but I think the coolest part is the custom Community Experience Points (CXP) Leveling System I built into it. Here is a breakdown of how it works:

* You earn CXP just by participating & sending messages in the group (capped at once per minute to prevent spamming to farm CXP).
* You earn bonus CXP when people give positive emoji reactions to your messages, & you lose CXP when you get negative reactions.
* As you gain CXP & level up, you earn reaction weight multipliers. This means veteran members who have been around a while literally have more power to influence the CXP of others.

Leveling up also automatically assigns you custom Member Tags as flair; you can earn titles like Script Kiddie, Dirty Phreak, & Whale Hunter.

In the latest update, we have put CXP in charge of anti-spam measures in the group. Your CXP level directly affects your messaging permissions:

* Level 2: Unlocks the ability to send images, stickers, & GIFs.
* Level 5: Unlocks the ability to send videos, music, files, & links.

If you want to dig through the code, use it for yourself, or even contribute to the project, it's publicly available right here: github.com/symmetricalboy/tcnchatbot

I'm always open to suggestions & pull requests. Come check it out!

Please also consider checking out TCN's official site at tcn.gg for more info on the project, & try out the game using my link here: https://t.me/TheCleanNetworkAppBot?start=A7E65049

Here is a new watch face design for Wear OS 7+ devices that I made. It is called Segments. I have dabbled in attempts to make a watch face for Wear OS in the past, but this is the first one that I am close to actually publishing. I would greatly appreciate some feedback & constructive criticism on the design. I am looking for several people to join me as testers prior to public release. The watch face will be paid when published, but for the next week of testing it is completely free. If you have a Wear OS 7+ device, please consider downloading Segments. Detailed instructions on how to do so are below:

First, join the Google Groups page at the following link. Click the link & then click to join the group at the top of the page:
https://groups.google.com/g/symm-watch-face-testers

Then, click this next link & click the button on the page to become a tester:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.symmetricalboy.segments

The last step can be a little tricky; open the following link to the Play Store IN YOUR BROWSER. Either use a desktop device to open the link, or, if on your phone, open the link by pasting it in your browser & then change the page view to DESKTOP VIEW MODE; if you don't do this, your phone will attempt to open the Play Store app & the installation won't work:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.symmetricalboy.segments

Thanks you for checking out my work!
testing!
