Archpriest John Whiteford

St. John was a monarchist, he was very conservative, and was a staunch defender of the Faith and Traditions of the Church, but unlike the extremists, he was not a sectarian or schismatic.

In an open letter to the Ecumenical Patriarch, Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv stressed that simply withdrawing the Tomos is no longer sufficient under current circumstances.
Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv sent a detailed public letter to Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, urging him to revoke the Tomos of the OCU and to end persecution of the canonical Church.

An effective 911 response to an active shooting is going to take multiple minutes to arrive. Sometimes as many as 10 minutes or more. Those are horrifying minutes in which innocent people are being killed and injured. FBI statistics indicate that most active shooting incidents last around 5 minutes, meaning that most are concluded before the local police even arrive. A determined psychopath can do a lot of damage in 5 minutes.

There is a huge lesson Christian men need to learn from the two Michigan active shooter incidents. You must be prepared to defend your own parish. The resources needed to stop an active shooter need to already be at the parish, not on their way following frantic 911 calls. You need armed men guarding the inside and outside of your parish during worship. They can double as greeters, while keeping watch to ensure everyone’s safety. https://orthodoxreflections.com/christian-men-you-must-defend-your-own-churches/

🔥 «IF THIS STANDS, MILLIONS OF UKRAINIANS WILL LOSE THEIR CHURCHES, THEIR MONASTERIES, EVEN THE RIGHT TO PRAY IN THEIR HOMES».

📣US REPUBLICAN POLITICIAN CATHERINE WHITEFORD ADDRESSES UKRAINIAN COURT, WHERE THE CASE ON THE BAN OF THE KYIV METROPOLIS OF THE UOC WILL BE CONSIDERED TODAY

September 29, 2025, USA. The American politician and co-chair of Young Republican organization Catherine Whiteford published a video on her X in which she recalls the problem of persecution against Orthodox Christians in Ukraine, which could become even more acute in light of possible illegal and anti-democratic decisions by the Ukrainian court against the UOC.

Catherine Whiteford warns of the catastrophic consequences that an unfair court decision will have on the lives of UOC believers.

It also appeals to Ukrainian judges, calling on them to fulfill their duty to the people and protect justice and the rights of citizens.

Breaking Ukraine’s spiritual ties with Russia is at least as important to breaking of political ties and enlisting Ukraine as part of NATO’s anti-Russian deployment.

St. Jonah Orthodox Church Celebrates Centennial of Patron Saint's Repose with New Ordinations and Plans for a New Temple

SPRING, TX —
The parish of St. Jonah of Manchuria in Spring, Texas, marked a historic milestone this week, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the repose of their heavenly patron October 20, 2025. Roughly two-hundred faithful joined in the celebrations, coming from as far as Florida, California, and Illinois.

The festal services were presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel, Locum Tenens of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America.

Archbishop Gabriel was concelebrated by twelve priests and five deacons, with the services highlighted by several ordinations that reflected the parish’s continued growth and spiritual vitality. During the Divine Liturgy, Daniel Gonzales and Paisios (Shane) Martin were ordained as Readers; Paisios Martin and James Hall were subsequently ordained as Subdeacons; and James Hall was finally ordained to the Holy Diaconate.

A special moment of gratitude came when the parish’s longtime choir director, Demetra Durham, received a Gramota (a formal diocesan commendation) recognizing her fifty years of service as a choir director...
