🔎 An Incredible Fat-Loss and Anti-Aging Tool - Metformin (Glucophage) 101

Metformin is a very popular medication used to treat type 2 diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome. Now, before you think this is definitely not for you, keep reading because this has a ton of applications in a bodybuilding and anti-aging context!

Metformin lowers blood glucose levels. This means that it can improve insulin sensitivity and aid in losing fat while also improving muscle building and nutrient partitioning.

Besides that it can also lower cholesterol and improve erectile function, two things that any bodybuilder on SARMs or AAS will appreciate. Finally, it has also been shown to contribute to longevity as well as fight certain kinds of cancer.

All in all, a great drug with tons of health benefits that can help just about anyone, including athletes.

But what about the side-effects? Well, the reality is that when used responsibly it is extremely safe. Hypoglycemia is a risk if combined with other blood glucose-lowering medications, but it can be solved by ingesting carbs.

There is also data showing that it may inhibit mTOR, which is linked to muscle growth. However, in the real world Metformin does not appear to limit muscle growth in any significant way. Quite the opposite, in fact.

The normal Metformin dose when bulking up is 1000mg/day, taken twice a day (morning and night). If you are cutting, opt for 250mg twice a day for a total of 500mg/day instead. Always try to take it before eating carbs.

⚕️ The Quintessential Aromatase Inhibitor: Anastrozole (Arimidex) 101

Arimidex is an Aromatase Inhibitor commonly prescribed for the treatment of breast cancer. In men, it's used to prevent high estrogen levels when using Testosterone and other estrogenic anabolics.

Arimidex works by inhibiting the Aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for the conversion of Testosterone (and other androgens like Dianabol or Trestolone) into Estradiol (Estrogen).

The benefits of implementing Arimidex when using high doses of Testosterone or other estrogenic anabolics are many, because by keeping Estradiol levels under control it can help prevent water retention, gynecomastia, moodiness, etc... It can also help reverse the development of early stage gynecomastia.

Unfortunately, it's not free of side effects. It will lower good cholesterol and increase bad cholesterol, plus it can crash estrogen levels if used improperly, which results in low libido, joint pain, depression, sexual dysfunction and other symptoms of low estradiol.

It's commonly used at 0.25 to 0.5mg twice a week along with a high dose of Testosterone or another estrogenic AAS.

🩸Why every bodybuilder must own a glucometer

A glucometer is a small medical device that measures the concentration of glucose in your blood.

Chances are you’ve seen someone in your family use it, because it’s a must-have for diabetics (and let’s face it, we all have a diabetic person in our extended family).

🟢 Weed and AAS

We all know about “pot”, “ganja”, or “Mary Jane”. This ancient herb, that has been smoked, or ingested for medical, religious or recreational purposes almost since the dawn of man.

In recent years, more and more states in the world (starting with the US), have been legalizing weed… for medical use at first, with more and more states allowing even recreational use.

⚕️ More than just a D*ck Pill - CIALIS (Tadalafil) 101

Tadalafil belongs to a class of drugs known as PDE5 Inhibitors. By inhibiting this enzyme, Tadalafil causes the relaxation of the smooth muscle cells around blood vessels, causing said vessels to dilate.

In other words, Cialis and other PDE5 Inhibitors cause vasodilation, which improves blood flow and lowers blood pressure. This results not only in improved erections (due to more blood flowing to the penis), but also in cardioprotection (by normalizing blood pressure).

Contrary to popular belief, Cialis (or any other PDE5 inhibitor such as Viagra) does not cause permanent erections. It simply improves erections when there is sexual stimulation.

Other benefits of Cialis include the prevention of prostate growth (BPH), an increase in testosterone levels and a mild increase in protein synthesis. A lot of athletes also use Cialis to improve their pumps and vascularity in the gym.

Cialis is a very safe drug that can have a lot of benefits, but some users experience headaches, runny nose and low blood pressure. If this happens to you, opt for a smaller dose.

The typical Cialis dose is 5mg, taken 2 hours before its effects are needed. Given the long half-life of Cialis, you can expect its effects to last for up to 36 hours, so there is no need to use it daily.
☝🏻The 4 stages of competence: mastering your mind for better results

Have you ever heard the phrase “bodybuilding is not a 100-meter dash, but rather a marathon”? In my opinion, whoever came up with that analogy is spot-on, not only in the physical aspect of it, but also in the mental aspect. As a matter of fact, I personally have seen countless cases of people who tried to take the fast route only to find themselves disappointed by the (lack of) results, simply because not everyone has the right genetics to benefit from a heavy usage of steroids or are not suited to withstand a professional bodybuilder’s training routine, not to mention the health-related complications sustained during the process.

⚕️The Ultimate Solution to Acne - ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE) 101

Accutane is a Vitamin-A-related medication used to treat acne and a wide variety of other skin diseases (including cancer and ichthyosis).

Even though Accutane is extremely effective at treating acne and will often get rid of it forever, it's a very infamous drug that many people fear.

That's because Accutane tends to cause extreme lip dryness, sensitivity to the sun, low Testosterone, depression and liver toxicity, among other symptoms.

Despite this, Accutane is often used by bodybuilders who develop acne as a result of using steroids. While Accutane tends to be a permanent solution for this issue, you may want to give its topical cousin, Tretinoin, a shot first (unless your acne is absolutely uncontrollable).

Tretinoin is not as effective as Accutane when it comes to treating severe acne, but it can get rid of most types of acne fairly quickly and with almost no side-effects besides some skin irritation and sensitivity during the first few weeks.

If you choose to go with Accutane, you will probably have enough with 10 to 20mg/day for up to 6 months.

Tretinoin is applied to the affected area every other day for the first two weeks, then every night for a total of 3-6 months. Start with 0.025 strength and work your way up if need be.

Regardless of which one you pick, be sure to use a good moisturizer and quality sunscreen.

☝🏻 Testosterone Replacement Therapy – Is it time for it?

Typically starting at about the age of 30, a man’s testosterone levels drop by about 10% every decade. Together with that, sex binding hormone globulin (SHBG) levels start to increase, “trapping” much of the circulating testosterone and making it effectively unavailable to exert its expected effects on the body. The resulting difference between the total testosterone and the bound, unavailable is what we call free or “bioavailable” testosterone and, more importantly than the total levels of the hormone, plays a major role in the health, drive, quality of life and performance of an individual.

⚕️ The Go-To Anti-Hair Loss Med! - Finasteride (Propecia) 101

Finasteride is the most popular hair loss medication ever developed. As you may know, the leading cause of hair loss is DHT, a metabolite of Testosterone that attaches to the scalp and causes hair follicle miniaturization in those who are genetically prone to hair loss.

Finasteride works by inhibiting the enzyme that transforms Testosterone into DHT, thereby reducing total DHT levels in the body. This prevents and stops hair loss (also known as androgenic alopecia) as well as prostate enlargement and acne, but it can cause some serious side-effects...

DHT is necessary for mood, sex drive, sexual function and a lot of other functions that we men need, so by lowering DHT, Finasteride can actually have a negative impact on our well-being.

This, however, rarely occurs when one uses a reasonable dose that's high enough to stop hair loss but not so high that it completely crashes DHT.

The recommended starting dose is 0.25mg a day, with increments of 0.25mg up to 1mg a day if necessary.
💉 How Safe is TRT?

In 2016 there was a serious warning issued by FDA associating TRT with a high risk of stroke, heart failure, aggression, liver toxicity and infertility. They also went as far as making it illegal, except for certain medical conditions such as testicular disease.

A new study, however, might prove just the opposite. Carried out on over 5000 participants, it found no evidence that testosterone therapy increased cardiovascular risks in men over short to medium periods of time.

⚕️ The Mildest AAS ever! - Proviron (Mesterolone) 101

Proviron (Mesterolone) is hands down, the mildest and weakest steroid on the market today.

Heck, it doesn't even build muscle! So what is it good for? Well, it's more useful than it appears to be...

Firstly, it lowers SHBG and increases Free Testosterone, meaning that it allows you to get more out of your Testosterone (or TRT) dose!

Secondly, it's a mild Aromatase Inhibitor, so it prevents excess estrogen conversion. It's a perfect option when using a dedicated AI like Arimidex or Aromasin is not possible.

Thirdly, it's incredibly effective at boosting libido, mood and confidence (many users report feeling "alpha" on it).

And finally, it improves vascularity and muscle hardness significantly, which is why so many bodybuilders use it during contest prep and/or before a photoshoot.

In terms of side effects, it will cause little to no suppression of natural Testosterone levels or liver toxicity, and it will only cause dyslipidemia.

Hair loss and acne are also possible in those who are prone to these side-effects because Mesterolone is incredibly androgenic (meaning that it also causes some serious masculinization in female athletes).

The typical dose ranges from 25 to 100mg a day, and it can be cycled for up to 12 weeks at a time.
🔔 Why every bodybuilder must own a blood pressure monitor

We all know what a blood pressure monitor is. Those cuffs that wrap around the arm and inflate and deflate to tell us what our blood pressure is.

In my opinion, every enhanced bodybuilder should have one on hand and use it regularly on-cycle to keep track of blood pressure fluctuations (which we all know can occur due to AAS use).

⚕️ The Ultimate Gyno Treatment - Raloxifene (Evista) 101

Raloxifene is one of the rarest yet most useful SERMs on the market today. Like Tamoxifen, it was designed to prevent and treat breast cancer, but it is also used by bodybuilders who want to prevent and/or get rid of gynecomastia.

Unlike Tamoxifen, Raloxifene is powerful enough to shrink gynecomastia that has been around for years, and many people use it to reverse pubertal gyno all the time. It can also increase Testosterone levels, but it's one of the weakest SERMs when it comes to doing so.

It works by blocking estrogen receptors in the breasts (which prevents/treats gynecomastia and breast cancer), and the estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus (which causes the secretion of Testosterone).

Besides these two benefits, it can also improve bone mass and fight osteoporosis, as well as lower cholesterol levels.

It's main side-effect is that it can reduce IGF-1 levels, but other than that this is a safe and effective medication that will rarely cause serious liver toxicity, blood clots, moodiness or sexual dysfunction.

The typical protocol for gyno reversal is 60mg a day for 1-2 weeks, followed by 30mg a day for up to 3 months (or until gyno is gone).

For PCT, bodybuilders tend to take 60mg for 4-6 weeks, always lowering the dose to 30mg during the last week.
☝🏻 Tendonitis – How to treat it and one powerful alternative

For bodybuilding purposes, tendonitis is an overuse injury that results in inflammation of the tendon and, of course, discomfort and pain. This injury is most likely to occur when a person changes the type, intensity, or duration of their training. As far as overuse injuries go, these result from repetitive microtrauma that leads to inflammation and/or local tissue damage in the form of cellular and extracellular degeneration.

⚕️ The Truth About Viagra - Sildenafil (Viagra) 101

Like other PDE5 Inhibitors such as Cialis, Viagra causes vasodilation which results in improved blood flow and lower blood pressure.

This not only improves erections (due to more blood flowing to the penis), but also provides cardioprotection (by normalizing blood pressure).

Contrary to popular belief, Viagra will not cause permanent erections, and will simply improve erections when sexual stimulation occurs.

Other benefits of Viagra include the prevention of prostate growth (BPH), an increase in testosterone levels and a mild increase in protein synthesis.

Viagra is a very safe drug that can have a lot of benefits, but some users experience headaches, runny nose and low blood pressure. If this happens to you, opt for a smaller dose.

Unlike Cialis, Viagra has a short half life or 4-6 hours, so it will kick in within 30 minutes.

Take 25-50mg pre-sex or pre-workout for best results, and up to 100mg if erectile dysfunction is a BIG issue for you.
