💎 One of the providers for buying cryptocurrency in Telegram's built-in Gram Wallet is Walt (ex. Wallet).

While analyzing how Onramp works, I was able to obtain the session data that Telegram creates when buying cryptocurrency with fiat. The server response lists wallet as the provider and telegram_wallet as the partner.

A separate session is created for the operation, after which Telegram opens @walt with the special parameter "isOnramp: true".

Currently, you can buy:
• Gram
• USDT on the TON network

The system also returns a list of available fiat currencies and checks supported currencies, payment methods, limits, and whether the operation is available in the user's region.

🍌 JUST IN: Telegram hasn’t released a new update in 37 days

According to the stats, the median gap between Telegram updates over the past two years has been 28 days. The longest break during that period came last spring and lasted 54 days.

The most recent release, timed for Telegram’s birthday, came out on August 25. That update arrived 42 days after the previous one.

🍌 What’s new in Telegram’s built-in wallet

⚫️ The latest beta adds a new Collectibles page, where users can see the NFTs held in their wallet.

⚫️ There’s also a new screen for scanning a QR code and copying the wallet address. From there, users can top up their balance through Walt, which handles payments. GRAM can be bought with a bank card, via P2P, or by swapping crypto from another network.

⚫️ After creating a wallet, Telegram will also prompt users to add an extra layer of protection with two-factor authentication.

⚫️ By the way, in one of the previous versions, Telegram Wallet was renamed to Money. It looks like that may end up being the final name for the built-in wallet. For now, it’s still hidden behind a feature flag in the latest beta builds.
