Day 3 of Codewars
Today’s challenge was about extracting the domain name from a URL.
At first, it actually caught me off guard 😭. I kept mixing up split() and slice(), and for a moment I was asking myself: “Why? Why? WHYYYYYYYYY?”
After stepping back and looking at the logic again… “Ohhhhhh… that’s why 😅.”
Once I realized the mistake, the solution became pretty straightforward.
Even though it tricked me for a bit, I really enjoyed this challenge. These small problems are great for sharpening how you think about string manipulation and logic.

Day 4 of Codewars
Today’s challenge was about detecting a Pangram. Which is a sentence that contains every letter of the alphabet at least once.
The idea was simple:
1. Convert the sentence to lowercase.
2. Loop through all letters from a–z.
3. Check if each letter exists in the sentence.
If even one letter is missing → not a pangram.
If all letters are present → it is a pangram.
This challenge was actually fun because it required thinking about iteration and string checking in a clean way.
Another step forward in sharpening my problem-solving skills 🚀

Day 5 of Codewars Challenge
I could've used filter and find method lol😭 but at the end it just worked.
One of the Rule on coding: If it works, don't touch it😅
Anyways, Another step forward in the journey 🚀

Day 6 Codewars Challenge HERE WE GO
Solved the classic Two Sum problem today... finding two numbers in an array that add up to a target.
Used a simple loop approach and it worked perfectly.
No errors. No stress. Just smooth coding 😎
Easy one, but still a step forward 🚀

💬 Need Advice from Fellow Developers
I’ve recently started learning the MERN stack and I’d really appreciate your guidance.
- What are the best resources you recommend?
- YouTube channels or tutorials Websites or courses
- Any must-follow roadmap
Also, what should I focus on first, and what comes next? (Frontend → Backend → Full stack?)
💡 A few more things I’d love your input on:
- What projects helped you improve the most?
- What mistakes should I avoid as a beginner?
- How did you practice consistently without getting stuck?
- When should I start building full-stack projects?
- Any tips to move from “learning” to actually becoming confident?
I’d really appreciate your suggestions 🙏 and drop them in the comments. It would help me a lot and others too.

Day 7 of Codewars Challenge
Yesterday I forgot to post this, my bad 😅
Finally solved a 4 kyu challenge: Strip Comments. WUHUUU 🚀
This one was actually challenging and really pushed my critical thinking. Had to carefully handle strings, markers, and edge cases.
Definitely one of the most helpful problems so far.
Hard… but worth it 💪

OH MY DAYS… this one almost made me lose my mind 😭😭 anyways
Day 9 of Codewars Challenge
Today’s challenge (4 kyu) was converting numbers written in words into actual integers.
At first it looked simple… then suddenly:
handling words
dealing with “hundred”, “thousand”, “million”
combining everything correctly
Yeah… it got real confusing real fast 💀
There were moments of:
“What the hell is even happening😭😭😭???”
But after pushing through the chaos… I finally got it working.
This was definitely one of the hardest challenges so far, but also one of the most rewarding.
Still alive. Still coding 😭🚀

Day 10 of Codewars Challenge
Yesterday I couldn’t post and work due to some issues (including this retarded WiFi in 4 kilo 😭), but we move. ምናባቱ 😤
Today’s challenge was Count IP Addresses (5 kyu)... calculating how many IPs exist between two addresses.
A bit tricky, but a good exercise for logic and calculations.
No excuses. We keep grinding 😤

Day 11 of Codewars Challenge
Today’s challenge was converting PascalCase to snake_case.
Solved it in two ways:
Using loops
Using Regex
Both worked, but ngl… Regex felt cleaner and better 😅
Nice little challenge for practicing string manipulation.
We keep improving 🚀

Day 12 of Codewars Challenge
Today’s challenge was Hamming Numbers (4 kyu).
Definitely not easy 😭required some real algorithmic thinking and careful handling of sequences.
Took time to understand the pattern, but once it clicked… everything made sense.
Challenging(especially with 4 kilo Library's wifi😭), but a solid learning experience 💪

Traversing a matrix in a spiral order sounds simple… until you actually implement it 😅
Had to carefully think through the logic step by step.

#Recap 🚀
Had an amazing time at the dev meetup. And honestly didn’t expect it to be this good.
Met Sanyi and we had a really great conversation. Sharp mind, for real. A kid with a potential of building Google from scratch. Appreciate you bruv👏 And yeah… I might be older but still shorter than you 😭🤣 ገና ልጅ ነህ ታድጋለህ, I’ll be the one stressing instead 😅
Had a solid discussion with Yeabsira and Nafyad about internships. We didn’t fully agree at first, but your perspectives were real and not sugarcoated. I respect that a lot. And I agree with your pov 🙌
Also got the chance to talk with Major John from the game dev community. That was a big moment for me. The way he broke down game development... all the different roles and paths... completely changed how I see it. Definitely not what I expected, in a good way. Looking forward to meeting again, maybe at the next game jam😉.
Met a lot of new people (and somehow even found a classmate I’ve never noticed before 😭).
Eyoba you’re genuinely one of the best person I’ve met. We’re not done talking and we will meet again soon 😁 አንላቀቅም
Kasmase, great time as well. And to everyone else (Mahlet, Nafyad, Eyael, Eyu, Jo, Henok, Fraol, Bonson, LUTO, Bruik, EKD) it was honestly a pleasure meeting you all. From strangers to real connections 🤝
Big respect to Mo for organizing everything. Without you, this wouldn’t have happened. And yeah… some of those questions were wild 😂 glad I dodged one of them 😭
This was my first dev meetup… and now I already want another one😅
Great people, great conversations, unforgettable experience ❤️

Today’s dev meetup at Entoto? Yeah… I haven’t felt this happy in a long time tbh.
I showed up early (around 12:30-ish), waited a bit… then saw some kids playing football and thought, why not? Had to warm up before the devs arrived 😂
Soon everyone pulled up. First person I met was Kasmase II, then Sanyi and Forsty. We were already laughing non-stop before Mo even arrived. After that, we got grouped so everyone could connect, and I ended up with an amazing squad including Semer Nur. From that moment on, the vibe was just perfect.
The hike itself was unforgettable. Met Nebiyou, and with Eyu in the mix… I don’t think I stopped laughing the whole way 😭 You guys made it special fr.
(Also… I slipped like 5–6 times but I’m blaming Eyuel for that... I AM SHORT MAN😭💀)
Then I met Lozi and wow. I’ve never seen someone radiate that much positivity. Talking with you genuinely shifted my mindset. Thank you for the advice, it meant a lot 🥰
Rihanna (shego.codes) your energy is contagious. That conversation? Yeah, not forgetting that anytime soon. الله يبارك فيك 🤍
Big shoutout to ONYX and EKD the design gang 🔥 Really appreciated the mentorship and the insights. Learned a lot just from being around you both.
Also met the twin coders — Nati and Yeabsira (TechNerd). Solid conversations all around, but that lunch talk especially hit different. You guys are something else fr. Sadg endenante new mehon yemfelgew😁 Looking forward to round two.
To everyone I met today, genuinely, it felt like one big family. From strangers to real connections in just a few hours. That’s rare.
And finally… Mo.
Respect. Without you, none of this happens. You brought people together, created the space, and made the day what it was. May you get everything you’re working toward and more. JazakAllahu khayran 🙏
First dev meetup for me… and now I already want the next one to be soon ASAP 🤣
Until next time stay building, stay connected, and keep showing up.
Much love to all of you ❤️
