Just a Rant After the Official Answer Key Release: 📢
📖 “Transparency” is a word we see all the time in the Ethics syllabus. It’d be great if UPSC practiced a bit of it too—especially when it comes to answer keys and evaluation.
Every year, many students miss the prelims cutoff by a margin as small as 1 or 2 marks.
❌Then a few questions get dropped. No explanation. No justification. Nothing.
Now imagine this:
An aspirant attempted all three questions that were later dropped—and got them all right.
✅She remembered the exact wording of Article 112 and rightly figured that the Union Finance Minister doesn’t present the Budget on behalf of the Prime Minister.
✅She went through every RBI circular and couldn’t find a single mention of NBFCs under LAF, leading her to logically deduce that the statement is incorrect.
🎯She calculated her score to be around 95—confident, accurate—and still didn’t clear.
Why? Because 4 or 5 questions she answered correctly either got dropped or marked wrong with zero clarity.
In a paper where 1 mark can make or break a year, is it too much to ask for some accountability? Or at least a basic explanation? 🧐

Dear Aspirants,
One last piece of advice as you prepare for tomorrow's test:
Keep things minimal—carry only your admit card, a valid ID proof, and a few black pens.
🚫Avoid bringing bags, as they may not be allowed inside the exam centre—this was the case last year and is clearly mentioned on this year’s admit card as well.
✅Leave your belongings in your vehicle or a nearby safe place to avoid last-minute problems.
🎯You’ve worked with dedication for this day. Walk into the exam hall with calm, clarity, and confidence.💪.
Stay composed—it’s natural to feel anxious, but don’t let it overwhelm you.
🌟Wishing you all the very best. Success is within your reach.
Regards,
Mohan P.

Delimitation Commission
Can the southern states have an equal voice in Indian democracy only by having a stay on the number of seats in the Lok sabha ?
However, this solution argues for an unconstitutional position—one that specifically contradicts Articles 81 and 170 of the Constitution—of subverting the principle of “one person, one vote, one value.”
Here are some ,Steps to Strengthen Federalism and Address Concerns Over Delimitation
1. Increase Autonomy of States:
Enhance the legislative and administrative powers of states.
Empower states to make decisions more independently of the Union government.
2. Revise the Seventh Schedule:
Expand the State List to grant more subjects under the exclusive control of states.
Minimise the Union List to reduce central dominance over legislative matters.
Safeguard the Concurrent List by ensuring a balanced and cooperative approach in shared subjects.
3. Reconsider the Role of Governors:
Initiate debate on abolishing the post of Governor in its current form.
Alternatively, drastically reduce gubernatorial powers to prevent misuse against elected state governments.
4. Protect State Rights from Union Interference:
Ensure that the Union government cannot override the constitutionally guaranteed rights and powers of state governments.
Reinforce mechanisms to uphold true cooperative federalism.
5. Reform Bicameralism:
Rethink the structure and role of the Rajya Sabha (Council of States).
Reform it to ensure equitable representation for all states, especially smaller or underrepresented ones.
6. Rethink the Electoral System:
Consider alternatives to the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system.
Explore the introduction of proportional representation or a hybrid model to ensure more equitable political representation.
