Newfoundland police are asking the public for help to locate a wanted man who’s charged with a litany of violent offences and sex crimes while on release for prior offences. The 40-year-old man, Simon Andrew, is wanted in relation to a series of alarming offences, alleged to have occurred at a residence in Sheshatshiu on May 6, 2025.

The search effort for a sister and brother who were reported missing from their home in Nova Scotia's Pictou County on May 2 has been scaled back.
RCMP say they were called that morning to find Lily Sullivan, 6, and Jack Sullivan, 4. On Wednesday, May 7, police announced they were scaling back the active search and have not ruled out that the case is suspicious.

▫️Child Rescue Coalition Provides Another Operational Sprint Tackling Online Live Stream Abuse In Canada - Identifying 44 High-Harm Offenders - Child Rescue Coalition
Child Rescue Coalition is grateful to have provided training and supported a recent operational sprint attended by several police organizations hosted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. During the operation, 44 potential high-harm offenders were identified.
CRC has developed and provided new technology to assist a global law enforcement effort to identify and investigate live-stream child sex abuse offenders. These offenders are from developed countries who prey on vulnerable children in developing countries and a single offender can victimize hundreds of children each year.

▫️Bangladesh: 14 people kidnapped at various times by Saiful Bahini rescued
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has rescued 14 individuals from a secret hideout used by human traffickers in Uttar Lombori area of Teknaf Sadar union, Cox's Bazar.
They had been abducted from various parts of the country for extortion and illegal trafficking by sea to Malaysia and Indonesia, officials said.

▫️Bangladesh: Ex-AL reserved seat lawmaker Salina Islam arrested in Dhaka
A team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police detective branch arrested former Awami League reserve seat lawmaker Salina Islam in the capital’s Gulshan-2 area on early Saturday.
DMP DB joint commissioner for South Mohammad Nasirul Islam said that they brought Salina in the DB custody at Mintoo Road at about 2:00am on Saturday. ‘Salina is accused in several criminal cases. We are yet to fix the case in which she will be shown arrested,’ he added. Salina, also a former AL Cumilla district north unit vice-president, was involved in human trafficking and lifting sand from the River Meghna, according to DB officials.

▫️South Korea: Couple sentenced for sex trafficking operation exploiting undocumented Thai women
A man and his partner have been sentenced for running a sex trafficking operation that involved exploiting undocumented Thai women under the pretense of “prepaid loans,” confining them illegally and subjecting them to constant surveillance.
The two had operated a brothel in Mokpo, South Jeolla, employing Thai women who were in Korea without legal status from September 2023 to January this year. They took large sums from the women in the name of “prepaid loans” and forced them to continue sex work to repay the debt. To prevent escape, the victims were confined and threatened.
The Changwon District Court sentenced a man in his 40s to two years in prison for violating the Act on the Punishment of Violences, including charges of unlawful confinement. His partner, a Thai woman in her 20s, received a one-year prison term suspended for two years.

▫️Türkiye: Istanbul police arrest suspects in organ trafficking operation
Police in Istanbul have arrested four suspects involved in an illegal kidney transplant scheme, where a woman from France attempted to pass off an unrelated donor as her daughter to circumvent organ donation regulations.
During their investigation, authorities discovered that 58-year-old Z.A., a woman living in France who was waiting for a kidney transplant, had turned to illegal means after receiving two rejections from the Provincial Organ Transplant Ethics Committee when she attempted to register D.K. as her "close friend" as a donor. Police arrested the recipient Z.A., her husband A.A., the donor D.K., and the intermediary T.E. Following their processing at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse. Z.A., A.A., and D.K. were released under judicial supervision conditions, while T.E. was sentenced to house arrest.

▫️Sex Worker Jailed 20 Years For Human Trafficking
A CIRCUIT Court in Tarkwa has sentenced a sex worker to 20 years’ imprisonment in hard labour for trafficking two young ladies from Nigeria to Ghana and forcing them into prostitution.
Patience Gideon Gold was arrested by the police for trafficking the two girls into Ghana under the pretext of offering them a job as bar attendants in her drinking spot, but ended up forcing them into prostitution while collecting the proceeds from their illicit trade.

▫️South Africa: Two sexual predators jailed in Limpopo; one given three life terms
Justice has caught up with two sexual predators thanks to the relentless work of Seshego’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit. One offender will spend the rest of his life behind bars, while another begins a 15-year prison sentence.
Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said that in the first case, 44-year-old Kgadi Joseph Lekgwara was sentenced to three life terms after being found guilty of repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl in October 2021.
In a separate case, 38-year-old Malisela Elias Ramaoka received a 15-year direct prison sentence for the rape of a 19-year-old woman.

▫️Ukrainian Mother Busted On Video For Trying To Sell 2-Year-Old Son
The Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed the woman was charged with human trafficking involving a minor, and she has since been convicted and sentenced to eight years in prison.
A 20-year-old woman from Dnipro, Ukraine, was reportedly arrested after allegedly trying to sell her two-year-old son for one million hryvnias (approximately $23,947) to a woman she knew. According to the Daily Mail, the mother told Ukrainian authorities that her son was interfering with her personal life and that she didn’t want to raise or care for him. Reports also suggest she intended to use the proceeds to start her own business.
