A British woman has become the oldest person in the world following the death of a Brazilian nun.

Ethel May Caterham, who lives in Surrey, was born on August 21, 1909, in Shipton Bellinger, Hampshire.

Ethel is now 115 and is thought to be the last surviving subject of Edward VII.

The super-centenarian – a person who is aged 110 or older – is the very last known living person to be born in the 1900s decade.

Daniel Flatters, Jack Poulson, Cory Barrett, James Fitzgerald, Richard Haslam, and Elliott Turner are the final six men that have been handed substantial sentences for a range of sexual offences. The gang preyed on young girls aged between 13 and 15 by meeting them where they would hang out with other teenagers near the local community centre.

A PAEDOPHILE has been jailed for 20 years for child rape and sexual abuse which police said was one of the worst cases they have ever dealt with.
Connor Cashmore, of Bell Lane in Broadheath, near Worcester, appeared at Worcester Crown Court yesterday. Police said they launched an investigation into Cashmore after they received intelligence in September last year which connected him to a wider paedophile ring. Cashmore was arrested on September 9 for the sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, engaging and inciting a child into sexual activity and making and distributing indecent images of children.

▫️UK extradites woman wanted for sham marriages in Cyprus
A woman sought in connection with a series of sham marriages was transferred from the UK to Cyprus by the office for combating human trafficking on Wednesday.
According to police, the woman is suspected to be part of an organised criminal network operating in Cyprus between 2019 and 2020 that allegedly orchestrated sham marriages between European women and Asian men. The charges include human trafficking, forging documents, aiding illegal entry and conspiracy with two more suspects still at large under European and international search warrants, police stated. In March, three other individuals had already been found guilty in the same case whose investigation was conducted by the Cyprus police coordinated by Europol and authorities in Germany, the UK and Romania.

Five women told their stories on Channel 4 today, after being groomed, raped, imprisoned and tortured by gangs as kids and struggling to get police to listen.
Groomed: A National Scandal aired on Channel 4 this evening (April 30) and viewers were in tears as they heard about the harrowing death of a teen girl injected with a lethal dose of heroin by her abuser. They also heard from five now adult women who described in their own words how they were "silenced" as children when they tried to report their abusers, who'd gang raped, tortured, drugged and imprisoned them before selling them out for sex.

Viewers were left in shock when they heard that the ethnicity of grooming gang members had been concealed, as certain authorities believed it could "increase community tensions" to reveal that the perpetrators were predominantly British Pakistani men.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested eight individuals and rescued 17 victims, including 12 minors, during an operation against human trafficking in Meycauayan, Bulacan.
The operation on April 24, 2025, followed a tip from Destiny Rescue Pilipinas, a group that supports law enforcement in rescuing children from sexual exploitation and human trafficking, about trafficking activities at L.A. Resto Bar in Barangay Iba, Meycauayan. NBI officials said the bar was reportedly offering women, some of whom were minors, to customers for sexual services.

▫️Kenya: Two suspects charged in Nairobi over human trafficking claims
Two suspects, a Kenyan and Somali national, were on Wednesday arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts for alleged involvement in human trafficking.
Jaafer Rahow Salat and Fitsu Haile Michael were accused of conspiring with others not before the court to commit the offence between 16th and 27th January 2025, within Nairobi County. The court heard that the accused persons trafficked four individuals of Somali origin, including a 14-year-old child, a 17-year-old child, and an adult, Said Adhow Abdi, from Nairobi to Busia border using deception for purposes of exploitation.

▫️Man from Děčín convicted of sexual abuse evaded police for five years: He was arrested in Uruguay
A 54-year-old Czech man who was convicted of sexual abuse in Děčín in 2020 has been arrested in Uruguay. The newspaper El País reported this on Monday. According to it, the man was arrested on the basis of an international arrest warrant less than two weeks ago when he tried to return from Uruguay to Argentina, where he lives.

The District Court in Děčín has already requested his extradition to the Czech Republic, Michaela Janoušová, a spokeswoman for the Děčín court, informed ČTK.

The Spanish police rescued three children on Wednesday who were locked up by a German couple at a house described by the police as the "house of horror," in the northern Spanish city of Oviedo since the COVID-19 plandemic.
The parents forced the kids to wear diapers and face masks, the local newspaper reported. A large quantity of medication was also found inside the house. The municipal police found "sufficient evidence of criminality" based on the deplorable conditions the children were living in. The couple were a 53-year-old German man and a 48-year-old woman holding dual German and American citizenship. Since October 2021, they have been renting the single-family home on the outskirts of the city.

An 18-year-old African alleged serial rapist migrant has been charged with rape in the Choisy-le-Roi park in a case involving a young woman last week on Friday. Police have arrested the suspect, noting he was not wearing any underwear at the time of his arrest. The suspect was brought before a court on Sunday and charged.
