β«οΈVietnam: 18 girls confined at karaoke parlor, some victims as young as 13 years old
Eighteen girls, aged between 13 and 20, were confined at the Moonlight karaoke and massage parlor in Bac Giang Province, deprived of their phones, and forced to work under surveillance. They were recently rescued by police.
On April 27, Bac Giang Provincial Police announced they had initiated a criminal case, prosecuted, and detained Duong Thi Thao (30 years old, owner of Moonlight massage parlor), Duong Dinh Kien (28 years old), and Hoang Thi Ngoc (30 years old), both from Thai Nguyen Province, for unlawful detention.
At the Moonlight karaoke and massage facility, located in Doi Ngo Town, Luc Nam District, Bac Giang, young women - some only 13 or 14 years old - were held against their will and subjected to physical abuse over extended periods by individuals associated with the establishment.

Border Police Sector Police Officer Radenko SaviΔ (55) from NikΕ‘iΔ is one of three people arrested on suspicion of smuggling migrants.
AC (40) from Pljevlja and NL (34), a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina with registered residence in Podgorica, were also arrested. Police are searching for Azerbaijani citizen AR (39). The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica ordered the detention of SaviΔ and NL for up to 72 hours due to reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of illegal crossing of the state border and human smuggling, and the suspect SaviΔ also committed the criminal offense of forging an official document.
"Suspect NL hired Azerbaijani citizens for the needs of his construction company and gave their passports to person AC, with whom he went to the Ilino Brdo border crossing, where the records were kept by an RS police officer, even though they were not present or crossing the border," said the Podgorica State Police.

Cleaning firms grossly cheated people, police suspect
Police suspect that two cleaning firms in the capital region charged exorbitant fees for work contracts and entry into Finland. Police suspect the Filipino owners of two cleaning companies of committing serious crimes.
It is suspected that the companies lured Filipinos to Finland with false promises of work. People who arrived in Finland were charged so-called "threshold money" and helped with residence permits. In reality, not nearly all people who arrived in Finland were able to find work in the companies. The total number of victims in this criminal case is around 80.
The Helsinki Police Department's national human trafficking investigation team has regularly investigated cases of abuse related to the recruitment and entry of foreign labour. It is common for people coming to work in Finland to be charged advance payments, says Sami Isoniemi, Director of Investigations and Criminal Investigation Inspector, in a police release.

Police have launched an extensive search operation following the mysterious disappearance of three young constables last seen in the early hours of Thursday (24/4). βIt is a growing trend; people disappear but there are those that we have found. Remember, here was a pastor in the Free State that disappeared but was found. Recently, there was also a pastor in Nelson Mandela Bay, who was kidnapped and was found, after taken by criminalsβ, said Gen Masemola. βYes, it is a growing trend where people are being kidnapped for ransom or whatever, but in this case, there is nothing yet, we donβt know what is happening.β
Meanwhile police have offered a reward of R350.000 for any leads that may result in locating the missing officers. Members of the public are urged to come forward if they have any concrete information by contacting the investigating officer, Captain Chaacha Manga, at 082 527 6099.

Kupang - Suratmi Hamida, head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP3MI) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), revealed that between January and April this year, 49 Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) from NTT were repatriated deceased. The majority were undocumented, illegal migrants, with only four having left through legal channels; the rest lacked proper documentation.
Suratmi stated that the highest number of victims came from Ende Regency (11), followed by Malaka (9), and East Flores (8). "All deceased migrant workers have been repatriated and buried in their hometowns. None were buried abroad," she said.
