Як би ви написали таке повідомлення англійською мовою.
Не дослівний переклад, а той самий посил, тільки англійською?

Трохи некомфортно.

Саме такі відчуття в мене викликало таке повідомлення, яке я отримала нещодавно.  А потім подумала і зрозуміла, що українською воно звучить нормально, але я думаю англійською. А от англійською мовою воно може навіть і образити і щоб носій мови не скривився отримавши таке повідомлення і щоб ваше повідомлення виглядало тактовним, треба врахувати 3 речі.

1. Коли ви пишете відповідь що ви щось отримали, замість констатації факту, що ви отримали, пишіть одразу "дякую":
✅ Thank you for your payment
✅ Thank you for your email
✅ Thank you for the parcel

Так ви убиваєте двох зайців: констатуєте факт отримання і показуєте вдячність.

2. Переробіть ваше прохання на відкрите питання, де є багато свободи вибору. Щоб людина відчувала, що є можливість сказати "ні" і немає тиску "зроби, інакше...". Носії англійської мови дуже чутливі до цього. І в такому повідомленні відчули б багато тиску замість простого прохання.

Ось як можна почати прохання:
✅ Would you be willing to ...
✅ How convenient would it be for you to ...
✅ Just wondering if it will be ok for you to..

3. Напишіть, що БУДЕТЕ вдячні. Обов'язково в майбутньому часі, щоб не було тиску "зроби, бо я вже подякувала".

Ще кілька фраз для подяки вкінці:
✅ I will truly/absolutely appreciate it
✅ I will be very grateful (indeed)
✅ That will mean a lot to me


От я би я таке повідомлення писала англійською, воно виглядало б приблизно так:

Hi ...
Thank you for your payment
I wanted to ask you if it will be convenient for you to pay to my PE account next time.
Would very much appreciate it.
Cheers.

Лайфхак на майбутнє: спочатку пишіть як хочеться, поки думку не загубили, а потім виправте на так як треба.
Я завжди так роблю 😉

Questions that could be considered respectful and acceptable. They DON'T check pregnancy, they RESPECT privacy:

💚“How are you feeling lately?”
💚“How have things been for you?”
💚“Let me know if you need any flexibility.”
💚“If there’s anything you’d like to share, I’m here.”
💚“Please tell me if anything changes that might affect planning.”
💚 "Hope we can expect some good news soon"
These give the person control.

Let's have a look at what to say when she is willing to keep it a secret yet

😎 “No, just taking care of myself.”

3. Some afterplanning or answering questions

🫂 "How far along are you?” - how many weeks already?
🫂 "Have you had your scan yet?” - did you have your ultrasound

quite + simple adjective = a little

the book is quite interesting
the food was quite tasty

quite + extreme adjective = very

the book was quite overwhelming
the food was quite delicious

See the difference? With normal adjectives like “good,” “cold,” or “tired,” quite means “fairly” or “a bit.”

And with extreme adjectives like "brilliant", "freezing" it means "completely"

Якщо ви подумали про "she died", то біля вас вже скривилось кілька носіїв мови.

Англійською правильно зараз казати

"passed away"
"Our grandma passed away"

Українською теж кажуть інколи

"перейшла в інший світ".

Але так кажуть не всі, а тільки ті хто вірить в інший світ

Болгарською, моєю рідною мовою, це звучить

"Тя сі пучина"

що означає

"Вона відпочила".

І англійською теж кажуть

"rest in peace"
"May her soul rest in peace"

незалежно від того вірить людина в існування душі чи ні.
І українською теж буває кадуть:

"хай спочиває з миром".

Але це не такий популярний варіант.

Ось ще кілька фраз як казати про таку новину. Сподіваюсь вони вам ніколи не знадобляться, але це життя і треба бути тактовним і підбирати слова навіть в таких ситуаціях. Чи може особливо в таких ситуаціях.
