Every hour of everyday I’d hear the voice:
“You’re not good enough…”
“Who do you think you are…”
“Well you’re really dumb…”
“You’re not ____ enough…”
“You just got lucky…”
“When they find this out about you... they aren’t gonna love you”
Sometimes it would sound like a distant drum in the background. Beating. But there.
Other times it was like a clanging cymbals DROWNING OUT any other thought.
I prevented me from so many pursuits, so many passions and crushed my purpose.
And then I got clear on IDENTITY.
I poured into 3 things:
Who God says I was.
Who God says I am now.
Who God is always and forever.
The drums and cymbals of deceptive, destructive thoughts began to fade away.
My mind began to renew.
My intrusive thoughts dissipated.
