Those who hyped the Saudi normalization as evidence of the temple being rebuilt in the immediate future and therefore evidence of the rapture happening in the immediate future are now strangely silent. No more animated updates. No retractions. No apologies. No "we missed it." Just moving on to the next piece of sensationalism.

Those who watched the normalization process with a mixture of hope and skepticism, hoping for the best but suspecting the worst because their eyes were on Psalm 83 and the Saudi participation in that war now watch Israel once again enjoying notoriety as a cup of trembling with the nations around, with the evil triad (Russia, Iran, Turkey), and even to some degree with her allies.

This is insanity. For decades the climate activists opposed logging and burning forests because it harmed the environment. Now they want to log and burn to protect the environment from carbon. Carbon is the key compound for life and life processes. The opposition to carbon is THE stupidest piece of science falsely so called on the planet.

There is no battle worth fighting which doesn't come with pain, sacrifice, and discomfort. When you embrace the present suck, you embrace the future glory.

When zeal and excitement are regarded as more important than rightly understanding and applying the truth of God revealed in the word of God, apostasy is brewing in the stewpot.

Current events are important. But a broad and deep knowledge of the Bible in general and the prophetic Scriptures in particular is vastly more important. Without robust discernment derived from this broad and deep knowledge, watchmen will have a hard time seeing the true significance of current events. Men may assign great significance where there is only modest significance. Men may assign small significance where there is great significance. The Bible is the primary lens through which all current events should be evaluated. Long, term historical trends are the secondary lens. Exciting current events must be evaluated through these two lenses.

Never embrace a sensational solution if a mundane solution actually answers the difficulty.

You have one short life to be a good soldier of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have one long eternity to be a fulfilled human being.

The current war appears to be expanding. The Houthis in Yemen have declared war on Israel. It will be interesting to see if Hezbollah mans up or continues to largely sit on the sidelines. If they join in, that could lead to a flood of terrorist organizations entering into a multi-pronged jihadist attempt to wipe Israel off the map.

It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow with Hezbollah and Iran. Will they step up a little? Step up a lot? Actually go to war? Or will they only deliver more bluster?
