I heard a story about fish suppliers who couldnβt get cod across the country without them spoiling. Freezing didnβt work. Shipping them live didnβt work.
Finally, they tried something different-they added a catfish to each tank.
Since catfish are natural enemies, the cod stayed alert the entire trip. When they arrived, they were alive and healthy.
Thereβs a spiritual lesson there.
Sometimes God allows βcatfishβ in our lives-people who challenge, question, or even oppose our faith.
Why? Because it keeps us alert, focused, and growing.
Thatβs a win-win.
This world isnβt your home. Stay strong. Heaven will be worth it all.

Grace and Grit.
We need both.
We have an obligation to grace.
We have an obligation to run, fight, strive.
To contrast them is not from heaven.
To favor one over the other is not from heaven.
To leave one undone is not from heaven.
The God who commands is the God who gives grace.
There is grace for those who say "yes" in weakness.
There no grace, but only the offer of grace, to those who say "no."

Wrong teaching must be addressed. Serious errors (heresies like denying the fundamental doctrines of the faith, or corrupting the gospel) can't be tolerated ever.
Real Christians hold a broad range of errors (Calvinism, Arminianism, Charismaticism, errors on baptism, etc.) on matters that are definitely not unimportant, and we further divide the body if we refuse to fellowship with folks who hold such errors, simply because they hold them.
We have to give account to the Lord for addressing error, but we also have to give account for whether or not we loved the Lord's blood-bought believers despite their errors.
For me as someone who is exceptionally truth focused, this can be a painful exercise.

His Appearing
A crown of righteousness . . . unto all them that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8
We love our Lordβs appearing
Because we love the Lord.
Though He alone deserves it,
We share in His reward.
Heβs full of grace and mercy,
He shed His blood and died
To purchase our salvation
And make the church His. bride.

Those who bring us a Jesus that majors in love and minors in holiness and truth-or even sweeps them under the rug altogether-are preaching the Jesus of the apostasy of the last days, not the Jesus of the Bible.
Love and light can be distinguished, but they cannot be divided.
When men focus on love to the exclusion of light (holiness and truth), their experience always degenerates into nice people winking at sin, if not indulging in it themselves.
Embracing love and marginalizing light is a practical rejection of Jesus-the Jesus of the Bible.

During our pilgrim journey we get tired . . . the desire for future reward starts to cool . . . the desire for present satisfaction grows stronger. Pretty soon we start making choices that give our present temporal happiness priority over our noble goals for the work of God in this life. We donβt depart from the faith, but we do make ourselves a little too comfortable in the Sodom of this world. We no longer run as if we were running to win, but poke along, content to merely finish.
As David encouraged himself in the Lord, so I encourage you my friends to encourage yourself in the Lord.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
