Prayer request. Leaving for OK tomorrow to work with Mondo and Josh Peck on a response to prewrath's Seven Pretrib Problems. Pray for journey mercies down and back, for the project to go smoothly, and for good opportunities of fellowship with family and friends.

No theological qualification is more esteemed today that flushing your brain down the potty and drinking the kool-aid.

RUSSIA ON THE RADAR

Two big things to watch are the nuclear reactor in Zaporizhzhia and the Russian response to the recent incursion in the Kursk region.

What will happen with the nuclear reactor in Zaporizhzhia? Will the security situation stabilize or will the plant be damaged and meltdown or even explode? Will it be sabotaged? Who will point the finger at whom?

How will Russia respond to the incursion in the Kursk region? Will they drive the Ukrainians back across the border? Will they allow the region to stay overrun for the time being and make Ukraine pay in a big way somewhere else? Will be interesting to watch how this plays out. The Russians seem to believe that NATO was directly involved in this, giving them yet one more red line that NATO has crossed. Will they finally do something about these crossed red lines or will they merely grumble?

Mat 24:35, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

May we who have been saved by grace through faith put on the new man and abide in Christ, day by day, for we have been made a new creation in Him: "Created according to God's likeness ~ in righteousness and purity of the truth."
May our speech be gracious and pleasant at all times, seasoned as it were with salt, so we may speak the truth in love. May we encourage and edify our brothers and sisters in Christ, with gracious words and pure deeds ~ so we remain in close fellowship with our heavenly Father and become the living testimony to our fellow man.

Prayer should be the in~breathing of our Lord into the inner core of our being and prayer should be the out~breathing of our utter devotion to our Saviour and Lord. Let us remember that when the prayers of the saints are offered to the Lord in steadfast faith, combined with grateful thanks and a trusting heart, we have the authority of heaven behind all that we carry to the throne of grace, through His nail~pierced hands and feet.

Praise God that Jesus is the Door through Whom we will pass from death to life, by faith... and that anyone who enters through Him will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture, not only in this age but in the ages to come ~ for Jesus is the One Who protects us from the evil schemes of the devil, guards us from the dangers of this fallen world system, secures salvation for all who believe, sustains our spiritual health, promises us a place in Christ's heavenly kingdom, and is keeping, for us, an eternal inheritance in the eternal ages to come.

He is the living God and the everlasting King. The whole earth will tremble at his anger. The nations will not be able to stand up to his wrath. But those that trust in His name will sing His praises forever, lifting our voices to our Saviour, Comforter, Redeemer, and Friend:

The peace of God can too often be hindered when a heart is devoid of thanksgiving and praise. A grateful heart that is filled with heavenly thanks and praise to God, is a heart that is ready and prepared to have the peace of Christ stream into their inner being and flow out to others ~ as a testimony of praise to our heavenly Father. May we with one accord let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts day by day and moment by moment.. for it is to this that the body in Christ has been called ~ and let us in all things be thankful.

God alone determined that the wages of guilty sinners is death, and He also determined that salvation would be His gift of grace, through faith alone in His only begotten Son, and that nothing in our character, conduct, natural descent, or human merit, would influence or affect our salvation. God sovereignly dictates the conditions of our salvation, which is a gift of His grace ALONE to ALL who believe. Salvation is by grace ALONE, through faith ALONE, in Christ ALONE because God determined it to be so. All you have to do to receive it is to believe in the Person of Christ and His sacrificial work on the Cross, and you will be saved.

The serpent seed (the Nephilim) account isn't the main story of the Bible, but it is an important back story that adds very valuable context and clarification to the account of judgment and redemption. It sheds helpful light on the global flood, on Babel, on the judgment of the Canaanites, and on the last days. The main story in all of these turning points of human history is human sin. The back story in all of them is the "gods" not only teaching mankind iniquity and sin, but defiling the human bloodlines.

Your first job in pursuing the correct understanding of the Bible and its teachings is not to be right but to follow the historical-grammatical hermeneutic vigorously, relentlessly, and consistently—-without exception. IF you do this, you will be on the path to finding the right understanding on the points you study. IF you don't do this, some if not much of the "right" that you defend will prove to be wrong at the judgment seat of Christ. Method should be your first concern, not being right. There are no shortcuts.

We need to meditate on all the instructions within the Word of God, to dig deep into the resources that are hidden in every passage and page, to be engrossed with God's Word, and to absorb the Scriptures with care and concern. We should compare Scripture with Scripture and pray that the Lord will guide us into all truth and protect us from any doctrinal error, false pride, or undue criticism, and to minister its truths to all that are placed in our sphere of life, as we progress towards an inner beauty that only the Spirit of God can produce in us.

A dear preacher friend received his home call on Thursday, and another is expected to be called home today. While departures are always painful, we have the glorious hope of a glorious reunion to share eternal joy.

The incredible Christ for whom Paul suffered, the glorious gospel of grace that he proclaimed, and the maturing of the saints in Christ, was the purpose and passion for which Paul strove. A passion and purpose that he could not carry out in his own 'wretched' strength, but a passion and a purpose that was fulfilled by means of the indwelling power of Christ which lived in him and worked mightily through him; a power that works mightily in all who will cease from their own fleshly strivings, rest in His love, and abide in Christ's sufficient strength. For when I am weak then I am strong, enabling the Lord to carry out His plans and purposes in my life through His mighty strength for His grace is sufficient.

Jude 1:3, "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."

One of my pet peeves is teachers making paradigm-changing claims who don't cite their sources. I am reading an article by a respected brother who cited a provocative passage from—supposedly—Ephraim's writings that he cited to prove his point. He didn't give the original source address or the volume and page number of the expert's book that he found the passage in. I just spent three hours word-searching for the relevant terms in all of Ephraim's Greek writings, and in the two major sources of English translations. Not a single passage showed up that resembled the passage he cited. All that is left to search is the Syriac works in Assemani's edition, which gives easy access to searching only with the Latin translation. Unless the source was a serious patristic scholar, the odds this was the source are pretty low.
