Paul joyfully concurred with the law of God relating to the inner man; that we are being renewed every day. In this verse, he made it clear that he was ready and willing to undergo all kinds of suffering, sadness, difficulties, and dangers, for the certain hope we have in our glorious resurrection from the dead; when this mortal will put on immortality and this perishable body, that is progressively decaying and wasting away, will put on the imperishable. And it is all by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, our only God and Saviour.

So many of the Lord's words to the disciples were spoken to move them from the fraught emotional thinking that ravaged their anxious hearts, to the calm influence of the gospel truth that would set their hearts free and keep them from stumbling.
The gracious words of the Lord Jesus are light and life, truth and love, peace and comfort, and these words are spoken to you that you may be kept from stumbling.

The enemy's attack on the gospel of God takes many forms and the shocking attacks on the teachings of Paul, then as now, must be resisted and rejected. Paul himself wrote, "our exhortation does not come from error or impurity or by way of deceit; but just as we have been approved by God, to be entrusted with the gospel ~ and so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, Who examines our hearts."

Psalm 96:2~4
Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; Shew forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people. For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: He is to be feared above all gods.

Blessed with a visit from an old friend last week. Mark introduced Lee and Nita. Also pictured is Lewellyn Tewksbury who is celebrating his 96th birthday today. Holding in for the rapture.

Like us, the Thessalonian Christians were waiting for the any day return of the Lord Jesus in the clouds in their own lifetime. We also are waiting for Christ's any day return in the clouds for us two thousand years later, for we all have been told: "The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet~call of God. The dead in Christ will rise first, and then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord." 
Let us comfort one another with these words and occupy until that glorious day.

I hold it as axiomatic that God's prophetic calendar will play out in harmony with the feasts that he gave to Israel in the OT. The feast of New Wine mentioned in the Temple Scroll in the Dead Sea Scrolls is not one of God's feasts. Therefore it does not belong in the prophetic conversation.

From the early days of Christianity until the days in which we now live, there have always been attacks on the Person of Christ and His finished work on the Cross. We must contend earnestly for the faith that was given to us, that God the Son came to earth as the perfect Son of Man, that he died according to the Scripture, that he was buried and rose again, and is today seated on the throne of God the Father until He returns to set up His kingdom on earth. May we be careful not to compromise the truth so that God may be glorified in our lives and so that we all will receive the reward that God has prepared for us.

When the rapture happens, the "church" left behind will quickly divide into two groups: those who realize how far removed they were from the Jesus and the Bible they professed, and those whose hatred for Jesus and the Bible will explode into vicious animosity.

I take nothing in the Bible as symbolic unless it is impossible or nonsensical to take it literally. There is nothing nonsensical or impossible about the Lord gathering his people out of the world before judgment. Taking the prejudgment removal of the church allegorically is as wrong as interpreting Noah's deliverance as pure allegory.

God is the Author of all that is good, and He is the One who can take the most difficult circumstances we may have to face and use them for our eternal good and for His greater glory. I am sure that when Ruth and Naomi were bereft of the husbands, without hope in the world, and living in the pagan land of Moab, they could not imagine the wonderful things that God had planned for them. May we adopt such an attitude of faith and live in active dependence on the Lord ~ Who has promised that eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the mind of man the wonderful things that God has prepared for those that love HIM.

The lamp is not that Light of God, but the vessel through which the Light of Christ may shine, illuminating our hearts and shining forth the Light of Christ and the Love of God to a lost and dying world.
But before we can be used effectively by Him, we should welcome His inner scrutiny into our inner being and willingly submit to His searching our hearts, our hidden thoughts, and our secret motives so that we may be fit vessels to shine forth His Light to others.

Was talking with JB yesterday about some of the potential election scenarios---what kind of rearrangements we might see on the Democrat side, what cheating we might see from the Democrats, will charged be effectively pressed against Trump, whether the Deep State wants Trump or a democrat in, in what way does the Global Cabal want to destroy America. This could prove to be the most convoluted election cycle in American history.

It is purely the mercy of God that has pronounced us children of God, through faith in Christ. And it is a miracle of mercy that has rendered us sons of God through believing on His name for salvation. Our privileged position in Christ has nothing to do with our worth or merit but is only and exclusively is founded on God's grace that He extended towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us so that all who believe on His name may be given the right to become sons of God: "Even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of human parentage but of the Spirit of God, by grace through faith in Him."
