Yeshua said i pray that you do not take them out of the world but that you keep them from the evil one! That evil one is the antichrist.
ANSWER
He did say that. But the evil one is the devil, not the antichrist. This is God's operating principle for the duration of the church age (the time of Christ's patience). When the time of Christ's patience is over, and the day of the Lord begins to dawn, the Lord's operating principle changes. He removes the church from the world and returns to Israel to finish his plan with Israel.

it can be very difficult to see where that thin grey line is.... scripture says: this great tribulation is meant to be a testimony for us and a testimony against them... what testimony would there be in not enduring exactly what we were warned we would have to endure for His name's sake?.. we all want an easy escape, but since when was the gospel the easy gospel?
ANSWER
There is no thin grey line here. The Bible is clear that God returns to dealing with national Israel during the seventieth week to finish what he started with Israel. The Bible is clear that the church will be removed from the world when the time of Christ's patience closes and the hour of trial (the day of the Lord) begins. The real issue is that men either don't see the distinction between Israel and the church, or they blur the distinction. The rapture is a tactical extraction of soldiers that have finished their mission, not a dereliction of duty. The God of all grace will give national Israel a second chance to receive the Messiah that she rejected. She can't obtain her OT promises apart from the new covenant in Jesus blood.

QUESTION
What about translations older than KJV that say "departyng" instead of apostasy or falling away in 2 Thess. 2:3?
ANSWER
Several considerations here.
One. It is not true that all of the oldest English versions feature "departure" rather than apostasy or falling away class readings. The Wycliffe manuscripts use "dissension" more often than "departure", and some have "dissension" in the text and "departure" in parentheses, indicating the alternate reading. Further, the Runner of the World (c. 1300) which features much of the NT in paraphrase, renders 2 Thess. 2:3 as "dissension."
Two. In Middle English the word "departure" meant "dissension, division, apostasy." In the late 1500s it started migrating in the direction of the modern meaning of physical departure. The English Bible versions then started using translations like "falling away, apostasy, rebellion" to maintain the sense of division or dissension. So the translation change wasn't to teach a new doctrine but to maintain the old one.
Three. The English versions that feature "departure" are filled with introductory notes both to the book and to the second chapter, along with marginal notes and footnotes, which clarify that the translators and editors used "departure" in the sense of "the departure of the most from the faith." They regarded words like "apostasy," "rebellion," and "falling away" as synonyms for departure.
This is a classic example where a cool theory uses a tiny handful of selective evidence and tramples on a trainload of evidence that is fatal to the theory.

ONE REFUGE. ONE SAVIOR.
When every other option fails, there is still one place of safety:
Jesus Christ.
Salvation is not found in our works, strength, or anything this world offers.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Christ alone is our refuge and salvation. He is faithful, unchanging, and worthy of our trust.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
Jesus is our refuge. Jesus is our Rock.

QUESTION
You spoke about fishing in eternity, in beautiful description, do you think there will be days you don't catch anything? Will our perspective change to such a degree that we don't " engage " in boredom over always getting a great catch?
ANSWER
There will be great diversity in eternity, but judging by the promises of no disappointments in heaven, I suspect that the diversity in things like fishing, exploring, etc. will be between great, amazing, and mind-boggling. There will be so many variations of options in places, kinds, situations, methods that we will never be bored. We will never have our last amazing moment. We will never uncover the last amazing thing in eternity. We will never run out of amazing in any single field. Not fishing. Not biology. Not chemistry. Not geology. Not exploring. Not beekeeping and honey. Not entomology. Not music. Not art. Not anything.

I can't reconcile that fishing will be a thing. I mean, the fish gets its gills caught in a sharp hook to either bleed, or die? In my mind, we would be friendly to fish, and same with hunting, I just don't think they belong in eternity?! No more death, right?!
ANSWER
Gen 9:3 "Every moving thing that lives shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." This informs us that meat (animal flesh) is an eternal gift.
2 Pet 2:12 "But these, like irrational, physical animals, made to be taken and destroyed ... shall utterly perish." Here we are given the creation purpose of animals (given to mankind after the flood), which is to be taken and used for food, leather, bone, sinew, hair, etc. The fallen angels are destined to perish like mere physical animals.
I always take the plain statements of the Bible over philosophical and moral speculations. I think that Evangelicals are way too influenced by a century of force-fed nature reverence.
"No more death" refers specifically to man, though the curse's effects on nature follow as a corollary. There are two causes of animal death in the world right now. Death through the curse and death through the eternal gift of God for food. When the former is removed, the latter will remain. We will be eating steak, burgers, bacon, and meat pizza for all eternity.

You Are Godโs Child and Your Future Is Glorious
If you belong to Jesus Christ, do not lose heart.
Your Father knows your frame. He knows that you are weak, that you stumble, and that you are still being trained. He is not an unreasonable taskmaster waiting for you to fail. He is a tender Father who delights in restoring His children.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench. Matthew 12:20
If you are struggling, bring your brokenness to Him. His mercy is greater than your weakness.
And remember, what you are experiencing in this present life is not the end.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
2 Corinthians 4:17
The believer has an inheritance that cannot be compared with anything this world can offer. We have been adopted into Godโs family, made heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. We are not merely escaping judgment, we are being brought into the eternal family of God to share in Christโs inheritance.
Lay hold of that truth. Don't let anyone take it from you.
Your suffering is temporary.
Your inheritance is eternal.
Your Father is gracious.
Your future is glorious.
And your salvation rests in Jesus Christ.
If you are a believer, keep pressing on. Keep looking up. God is not finished with you.
And if you have never trusted Christ, the Gospel is a precious offer: Jesus Christ died for your sins, and all who believe on Him have eternal life. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
Eyes Wide Open. Brain Engaged. Heart on Fire.

The Best Is Yet to Come
For the believer, eternity is not simply an endless existence. It is an eternity of discovering the goodness of God, enjoying His creation, fellowshipping with His people, and experiencing joys we cannot fully comprehend now.
The best moments of this life are only a glimpse of what is to come.
There will be no end to the opportunities to learn, explore, enjoy, and marvel at what God has made.
This life is temporary. Eternity is waiting. And the best is yet to come.
