Repentance begins with turning to God.
Salvific repentance is a turning from unbelief toward God in faith. You recognize that you are a sinner, acknowledge your need for Christ, and turn to Him in faith.

But repentance doesn't end at salvation. As believers grow in Scripture, we become increasingly aware of sin in our lives and turn away from it.

Salvific repentance turns you to God. Ongoing repentance turns you away from sin as you walk with Him.

QUESTION
Hi Lee, I have asked the following question MANY times, yet without an answer ... Can you please give me a verse that tell us we will be raptured to heaven before the tribulation starts and before the antichrist appears.

ANSWER
Your question is framed in such a way that you are literally begging the question. You are making the same mistake, whether ignorantly or intentionally, that the Jehovah Witnesses make with the Trinity when they demand that we present a single verse, just one verse, that directly teaches the Trinity. The right question is, which passages in the Bible in their collecive testimony teach the Trinity, or the pretrib rapture, or any other disputed doctrine? The fact is, no teaching of the faith is taught in its entire essence in any single passage.

Jesus Is the Fulfillment of All Prophecy, but that doesn't mean every prophecy was fulfilled at His first coming.
Jesus is the center of it all. Some prophecies involve Him directly, others indirectly.

He is the One who brings the Rapture, the Tribulation judgments, the Second Coming, and the Kingdom. He is the One who fulfills God's promises to Israel, gives the land and throne promises, sits on the throne, and rules Israel and the whole world.

Everything ultimately revolves around Jesus.

But if you try to make everything Christ did at His first coming the fulfillment of every prophecy, you quickly run into nonsense.

People often ask "What Does โ€œSoothkeepโ€ Mean?"

Sooth is an Old English word meaning truth.

Keep refers to a fortified stronghold, fortress, or place of protection.

Soothkeep = Truth Fortress

Keeping truth in the Church. Keeping error out.

EARLY CHRISTIAN TESTIMONY FOR THE PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE

Ephraim the Syrian (c. 306โ€“373) wrote:

โ€œCount us worthy, Lord, of the rapture of the righteousโ€ฆ that we might not be tried by the bitter and inexorable judgment.โ€

He then says the righteous are โ€œlifted from earth to heavenโ€ and taken โ€œwith the righteous and the elect in the airโ€ to meet Christ.

Ephraim clearly expected believers to be taken up before the coming judgment, not preserved through it.

GODโ€™S STRENGTH IN OUR WEAKNESS

Itโ€™s impossible to succeed in our God given mission on our own human strength. The more we depend on human wisdom and knowledge, the more quickly we discover how limited we really are.

The more we recognize our own weakness and inability, the more we understand our need for the Lord.
Our weakness reminds us that our strength must come from Him.

Our strength doesnโ€™t come from ourselves. It comes from Christ.

โ€œFor when I am weak, then am I strong.โ€
2 Corinthians 12:10

โ€œI can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.โ€
Philippians 4:13

Our weakness. His strength. His mission.

Yahweh, Jehovah, Lord,
By every name adored.
The One who reads our hearts
And made our inward parts
Wonโ€™t scruple for the name.

Or native tongue we use.

Christ Alone
โ€œFor I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.โ€
1 Corinthians 2:2

Christ alone is the answer to the ills of our world.

Education, activism, and good causes cannot change the wicked heart.
We aren't called to win the world's applause or clean up its surface problems. We're called to preach Christ, live by His Word, and point sinners to the cross.

The world may call us fools, but Christ is coming to judge the world and His desire is that men turn to Him and be saved.

Christ alone. Grace alone. The cross alone.

How do you know that you are truly born again?

The Bible does not teach that assurance rests on how consistently you perform, how many mistakes you make, or whether you have reached some arbitrary level of Christian maturity.

Your assurance rests in Jesus Christ.

If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, you have passed from death unto life. You are not saved because you have become perfect, you are saved because Christ is sufficient.

At the same time, the new birth produces a changed life.

โ€œTherefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.โ€ 2 Corinthians 5:17

A believer can stumble. A believer can backslide. A believer can struggle with sin and weakness.

If you have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, you are saved. Your salvation does not depend upon passing an arbitrary test or reaching sinless perfection.

Look to Christ. Trust His finished work.
