Just a heads up that while shipping has slowed dramatically in the Strait of Hormuz, it is not blocked. Transponder records indicate that ships are turning their transponders off and passing through, then turning them on again. Iran's efforts to blockade the strait are weakening. Ships are passing through. Much of Iran's Navy is at the bottom of the sea. Much of her ability to harm shipping with drones and missiles has been degraded. Her ability to slow traffic will continue to be degraded. The markets will recognize this degraded ability and that will be reflected in oil prices on the futures markets.

One of the chief impediments to rightly understanding and applying Bible prophecy is that men tend to overweight current news and underweight long term trends. This is the same mistake that many traders make in the stock and commodity markets. The current upheaval in the oil markets is not the beginning of worldwide economic collapse. It is the temporary byproduct of the geo-political rearrangements that will bring the faux peace that Israel will enjoy prior to Gog and Magog and the relative normality that the West will enjoy prior to the rapture.

Seriously thinking of never booking a flight through Chicago again. Every time I fly through here, I face delayed flights, canceled flights, infrastructure problems, and INSANE hotel prices when flights are canceled.

Many popular teachings are little more than a prooftext and a sound bite or two. This is contrary to a robust and consistent application of the historical-grammatical hermeneutic. Many times the Bible offers a half dozen or a dozen observations that challenge the popular teaching.

In the secular world, reporters no longer report the facts. They present narratives. In the spiritual world, the watchman community often does the same thing. They present narratives rather than report facts. We need to learn to gather facts and calmly process them.

Prophecy teachers have pointed to many ugly scenarios in the past five years claiming they would lead to the immediate collapse of the world economy. I think this is just more narrative, a fear-mongering narrative. The truth is, we will enjoy relative normality until after the rapture, then God will start knocking the props out from under the world. Things fall apart in the tribulation, not prior to it
