Grace must always precede peace, for it is only by His grace that the sinner may have peace with God. And it is only by His grace that the believer can access His grace, continue in grace, and grow in grace so that we may have the peace of God which passes all understanding guarding our hearts and minds, as we live in Christ Jesus our Lord and His grace and peace is reflected in us.

No matter what circumstance we face in life, our hope is in God and our trust is in His unshakable Word of truth. When our hearts start to fear what is coming on the world or we cry out in despair: "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Let us call to mind the unchangeable Word of God and the many precious promises that are 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ. Let us stand fast on the eternal truth of the glorious gospel of grace in these increasingly evil days, and let us remember that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

We have to take the Word of the Lord to heart and to store up its truth deep within our being ~ for those of us who joyfully receive His Word of truth, and treasure His commandments in our heart, will discover that they become an ornament that graces our head and a protective shield that keeps us from falling into the foolish ways of the world. May we be those who dig deeply into the treasure houses contained in the pages of Scripture and discover for ourselves the boundless riches of Christ, "in Whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

Unlike the kingdoms of this world that come and go, His will be an everlasting kingdom. Unlike earthly rulers, who rise to power but are set low by God's sovereign authority, the King of glory, Who is strong and mighty to save, is God's Anointed King and prophesied Messiah. He is God's dearly beloved Son, and will rule the earth with righteousness until He has put ALL enemies under His feet and returned the kingdom back to His Heavenly Father. Praise His holy name.

Paul reminds us that when we love others in the same way that Jesus loved us we fulfil the whole of God's law, "for love is the fulfillment of the law." And James calls this the ROYAL Law, and it should govern every aspect of our lives. BUT we can only love as Jesus loves when we are walking in spirit and truth and allowing HIM to lead and guide every word we say, every action we undertake, every attitude we express and every motive of our heart.

GEO-POLITICAL THOUGHTS
ONE. Turkey's entrance into Syria poses a tremendous threat to the Kurds and Israel. This is a potentially explosive matter. My suspicion is that the Syrian army will bring devastation to the Alawaites, while the Turkish army in conjunction with associated militias will rain destruction on the Kurds. Then both will head south towards the buffer Zone held by Israel and the Druze. The situation could be a quantum leap in the geo-political stage setting for the Gog and Magog invasion.
TWO. The experiment with deploying militias against Israel has failed miserably. Expect to see a huge ramp-up of national armies in the near future in the region which enjoy full support (political, logistical, intel, and military) from Russia, Turkey, Iran, and Egypt.

One of the most unnerving things I see among those who bear the name evangelical is the inability to weigh strong challenges to their beliefs. Plain statements of Scripture, basic grammar rules, actual Greek or Hebrew usage, undeniable facts of history, unimpeachable testimony are dismissed with a cavalier wave of the hand. Why is this? Because error is built on a foundation of superstition not a foundation of faith based on objective truth. Therefore "truth" trumps truth and "narrative" trumps facts. The fact is, prejudice is impervious to truth and facts.

We are the earthen vessels into which the glorious truth of the gospel of God has been poured, causing our mortal bodies to become the temple of the Holy Spirit, Who uses this gospel light to guide us into all truth and as we proclaim the glorious gospel of grace to others. The treasure within is the Spirit of Christ ~ so that as we work the works of God, the surpassing greatness of His power will be of God and not of us. Let us praise His name for His inestimable grace towards us.
