Like the Corinthians, we are also called to be brave and strong in our Christian walk. We are not to compromise our faith but to cling fast to that which is good and noble, right and pure, honourable, admirable, and lovely. And we do this as we trust in the Lord with all our heart, for He is the Rock our Salvation and the Foundation upon which we stand. We are to be devoted to our brothers and sisters in Christ, for we are one Body united together in Him, not only in this life but in the ages to come.

Grace must always precede peace, for it is only by His grace that the sinner may have peace with God. No matter what circumstance we face in life, our hope is in God and our trust is in His unshakable Word of truth. When our hearts start to fear what is coming on the world or we cry out in despair: "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Let us call to mind the unchangeable Word of God and the many precious promises that are 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ. Let us stand fast on the eternal truth of the glorious gospel of grace in these increasingly evil days, and let us remember that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

We have to take the Word of the Lord to heart and to store up its truth deep within our being ~ for those of us who joyfully receive His Word of truth, and treasure His commandments in our heart, will discover that they become an ornament that graces our head and a protective shield that keeps us from falling into the foolish ways of the world. May we be those who dig deeply into the treasure houses contained in the pages of Scripture and discover for ourselves the boundless riches of Christ, "in Whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

Unlike the kingdoms of this world that come and go, His will be an everlasting kingdom. Unlike earthly rulers, who rise to power but are set low by God's sovereign authority, the King of glory, Who is strong and mighty to save, is God's Anointed King and prophesied Messiah. He is God's dearly beloved Son, and will rule the earth with righteousness until He has put ALL enemies under His feet and returned the kingdom back to His Heavenly Father. Praise His holy name.

Paul reminds us that when we love others in the same way that Jesus loved us we fulfil the whole of God's law, "for love is the fulfillment of the law." And James calls this the ROYAL Law, and it should govern every aspect of our lives. BUT we can only love as Jesus loves when we are walking in spirit and truth and allowing HIM to lead and guide every word we say, every action we undertake, every attitude we express and every motive of our heart.
