As we wait impatiently for the thawing spring sun we'd like to share some heartfelt music to help you endure grey old Berlin!
Arne Kappen just released his debut Album 'Unstet' on Intumi Records and it turned out massive. On his 5-track EP he evokes a satisfying blend of ever evolving soundscapes, brilliantly textured percussions and a steam-driven low-end that just screams for a dark and dirty dancefloor (soon, my dear, soon). The two remixes from Herr von Kiedrowski and Alternativ3 bring in some oldschool, breaky vibes to provide for that subtle change of pace every great record needs.
On the more experimental side, Max Delius recently played an otherworldy set on Callshop Radio, sharing his passion for the uncompromised focus on sound design and the departure from dance music conventions. Vibrant and atmospheric drones intermixed with turbulent glitches and minimalistic melodies all contribute to a surreal and meditative feel. Try this after a rough day!

Wir sind zurück und starten mit spannenden Gästen ins neue Jahr. Für den Auftakt der zweiten Staffel Technostilleben haben wir die Fotografin und ausgewiesene Detroit-Kennerin Marie Staggat eingeladen.
Marie Staggat hat mit ihrem aktuellen Bildband “Hush” ein ästhetisches Zeitdokument der “Berliner Clubkultur in Zeiten der Stille” geschaffen. Wir sprechen mit ihr über die Besonderheiten und die Mystifizierung der beiden Technostädte Detroit und Berlin sowie ihre persönliche Verbindung zu diesen beiden Orten. Denn Marie hat nicht nur Jahre Lang an der Tür des Tresors als Selectorin gearbeitet sondern 2016 den Bildband “313ONELOVE” herausgebracht, in dem sie die Künstler*innen der Detroiter Szene portraitiert.

The nightlife gates have finally opened and we have some big announcements to make. This short one will go first with another one following later today.
Gregor Dys contributed a stunning set for the 11th installment of our podcast. Far off from dance music, he makes use of mostly instrumental drones with a focus on harmony. Combined with some nifty effect usage he created a truly awe-inducing ambient experience and a welcome alternation in our podcast program.
Finally, check out this little gritty minimal house adventure from Max Delius and CVO. The track is part of the VA album "Peace in Ukraine - vol II", produced by Bucharest based channel "feeder sound" in solidarity with Ukrainian war victims. If you're into Max's and CVO's sound our next announcement later today is going to be for you.

Sonic Ground is teaming up with the Bladehouse label crew to host a night of diverse dance music by improvised live acts and classic DJs covering a wide range of genres between ambient, house, minimal, breaks, techno and beyond.
